Drive through an Historic Covered Bridge in Connecticut
Jan. 2021
One lane road through an historic 1842 wooden covered bridge with some pretty water views below of the Housatonic River. First bridge in 1760 claims George Washington crossed while still under construction.

Hiking trails to enjoy the waterfalls and rapid trails but views from the road and bridge are also picturesque. Parking, however is extremely limited which is a problem.

Suggest continuing a trip back in the past with a delicious lunch at the Old Oak Tavern built in 1805 in nearby Gaylordsville. Claim George Washington met Lafayette under the Oak Tree in 1780 to set plans to win the American Revolution.

Interesting and enjoyable trip with a bit of scenery and a bit of history.

Covered Bridge
Nov. 2020
I took a drive to the mountains of Connecticut to catch the last of the fall foliage. One of our stops was Bull’s Bridge. It’s an old fashioned Covered Bridge in the country.

Forget it
Oct. 2020
There is really nothing to see here. Better off going further north for the historic bridge north of Kent staate park.

Below the spillway of the lake on the Housatonic the rushing water can be seen from the bridge. Oldest covered bridge In Connecticut.

This is a short covered bridge with access controlled by traffic lights when cars follow the rules. Nothing to see here.

Very cute bridge
Sep. 2020
The bridge is NOT the main attraction, but the roaring creek and water from a hydro water project that flows underneath the bridge. You are able to walk all the way down and explore or fish in this small area.

You have to be a little careful (slightly steep getting down there) but gorgeous and peaceful.

Drove 90 minutes to find no parking allowed and police presence.

Would have been great if there was some communication as to why the area was closed to visitors during the holiday weekend.

By far one of the best walks for hiking thus far. My partner loves the water and this hike has you walking by it 90% of the time. great trails and wonderful scenic sights.

Cute spot, but swimming is not allowed and extremely dangerous
Mar. 2020
Adorable bridge and nice little hiking area. One lane bridge.

Note, swimming is not allowed. Several people have drowned swimming in the area. The Bulls Bridge stretch of river has some of the most dangerous rapids on the Housatonic and the currents, even when the river appears low and steady, can be deceptively strong.
