Nice ethnic neighborhood with lots of charm and character. Multiple high-quality restaurants with lots of options. Classic pizza place Pepe's and Sally's with lines down the street. Plus fun pastry shop Libby's makes for a perfect night out!

If you want great Italian food in a neighborhood setting this is the place for you - as long as you don't mind waiting and can decipher all the parking signs. Sally's, Consiglio's and Pepe's will not disappoint. We have not had the pizza at Consigliio;s but Sally's and Pepe's are worth the trip - just watch out for the... More

This is my neighborhood. Needless to say, I love it. It still successfully hangs on to its Italian heritage, as evidenced by all of the restaurants! Visit the park that gives Wooster Square its name (the cherry blossoms in April rival anything in DC), then have some pizza--OF COURSE--or a nicer meal at one of the other restaurants (Tre Scalini... Wooster Street, known as New Haven's Little Italy, doesn't really have much to see outside of a few weeks in Spring, when the flowering trees look lovely. It has 3 good pizzerias, a few other restaurants which I haven't tried, and a mediocre pastry shop which I've only gone to once (a big disappointment). The neighborhood is no more charming... More

Pepe's Pizza was in Little Italy, the people were friendly and it seemed to be a busy, safe area to be in.

If you want to experience Italy in new haven...this is a must-visit place. The arch that opens up to the neighborhood is lit up in the italian flag colors during some time of the year. There are several italian restaurants, pizza places and at least one pastry shop (that I know of). Worth a visit.

Love the food, love the neighborhood, walking around the park and back roads. Very nice, very safe but parking is a drag.

Went to this section of New Haven to eat at Frank Pepe's Pizza - a local landmark. We were told to be prepared to wait an hour for a table. Got there at 4:30 on a weekday. No wait. Sat right down with a friendly waitress who seemed to have been at Pepe's since it opened in 1925! Delicious pizza.... More
