Went here to watch the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra. Seats were great and the sound/acoustics were great. The inside of the theatre is decorated very nicely and the details are worth looking at while waiting for you to be seated. Be sure to look at the track lighting near the concession stands. There are some interesting items of art up... More

Imagine having a full orchestra in your living room. That's what an intimate performance is like at the Garde Arts Center. This little treasure might not have the acoustics of Carnegie Hall, but it has lots of heart and history. Whatever you desire from Opera, to film festivals, to Rock and Roll can be enjoyed here. Definitely stop by and... More

I saw The Finest Hours at the Garde, with a panel discussion about the history afterwards. There's not a bad seat in the house, the digitally revamped audio and visual systems are excellent. I also love the concessions, truth be told. I like a wine or beer with a movie. The seats are pretty comfortable, but they are not terribly... More

We went to see nut cracker while we were there. The theater was large and roomy. The seats were comfortable. The performance was great. The only negative thing was there is not enough parking, and had quite the walk to get back to the theater.

The Garde has a gorgeous lobby, unlike anything I have seen a s ornate as The Bushnell in Hartford but with a Mediteranian feel. Seeing any type of performance there is enhanced by your surroundings and by a nice lobby bar - recommend highly!

We bought a film festival ticket to the movies. We have been going for several years, but prices jumped by more than 50% this year. It used to be great, and now it's just expensive .

Besides being the home of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra (always an evening to remember), the Garde's theater offerings are varied and very enjoyable. My new favorite is to see a movie at the Garde. The series they offer with Academy Award nominees is fantastic and the setting and acoustics are wonderful. You can find everything in entertainment at The... More

We attended as a couple but there are many shows for younger children and teens. The Garde has series available for sale at a slightly reduced rate. Seating is comfortable, and all seats have a decent view of the stage. In the past we've seen Wierd Al Yankovich, Arlo Guthrie, The Nutcracker Ballet, and many other performances. There is a... First time visiting the Garde Arts Center - great venue to hear music. Acoustics were fine, we liked our seats and we had a perfect view of the stage.
