Part of tour offered by Historic Association

Take the combined tour offered by Historic Association. Interesting look at a tradesman's typical 1700's home. Entire area of historic New Castle is well worth the visit.

Built in the late 1600s, this small but well designed house is very impressive. The guide will give the history of the house and improvements that where made over time.

This is a small house and wonderfully preserved. You stop at the Armory not far from the old court house to buy tour tickets for this house and the Amstel House. The tour guides are very good. This area is a wonderful example of our early history. Most houses in the area are Georgian so this one is a little... More

I have been to the Old Dutch House a few times and it never ceases to interest me since each volunteer adds something else to the presentation and story.....so hard to imagine living during that time, we are so spoiled and we don't even realize it!

This can also be combined with the Amstel House (recommended). This is very Dutch worker's house nicely restored with a small garden also for visiting. Seen by tour of about one hour with a very knowledgable guide. The upstairs is not open (difficult stairs to climb). Appropriate furniture give it a good feel for the times and how crowded it... Its amazing that at one point 9 people could have lived in a place this small. There's a nice tidy yard and a garden in the colonial style that's maintained by a local group. A worthwhile half hour of your time!

This little home is the second oldest in Delaware, built in the late 1600's. It is an interesting look at colonial life, but on the day we visited the air conditioning wasn't working well and it was a bit stuffy, causing 2 visitors to need to leave early.

Historical building around one of the oldest churches in the state and on the East Coast. Nice walk and history buffs would love the inside.

A charming house luckily still standing thru the generosity of a DuPont. Gives insight into the surroundings and life of working families in a port town. The architecture is unique Worth a visit.
