What a great beach to visit when you really want to unwind! You can fish or just sit and enjoy the beach. This is not a "touristy" place, so bring your own food and be prepared to use one of the porta potties when nature calls.

Small beach and I've never tried swimming here, but there is a terrific pier that extends into the Delaware River (or is it the Bay at this location?) great for fishing, watching the sun rise, or just the boats passing by. Never crowded. It's also at the end of an interesting ride out though the mashes on Delaware 6.

I have started several bike rides here. There is a huge parking lot, porte-potties, and lots of bike friendly roads near woodland beach. Route 9 is lovely as are the surrounding roads. It's an easy bike ride to Leipsic, which is an adorable small town. This is one of my favorite places to ride in central Delaware.

Beach area is small but good enough to take a stroll, very scenic along the coastline and the roadside . Living in Wilmington, this is the closest spot for sunrise/set in place of other Dover beaches.

Lots of history at this beach. Good walking beach for people and animals. Clean with a nice parking lot and plenty of portajohns (hey its better than nothing). Plenty of treasure to be found arrowheads, pottery, sea glass, flint etc.. Good fishing with a beautiful pier. Even a shipwreck if you don't mind hiking to it. Just got to watch... More

This was a fun place to go with kids to collect Sea Glass and cool rocks. We had a good time, but it can be mucky, so be aware of that. Also, wear footwear. There is enough glass that hasn't been worn down that you could cut your foot if your not looking. This is a river beach, so the... More

This a little beach and not much else. It is nice for walking. Back in the day there was an amusement park here but like so many other things ---it's gone all that remain are some wood pilings. Sometimes after a storm, sea glass will wash up its worth checking out.

Very small beach. If tides are in then there is no beach. Small fishing/walking pier which is nice. Also at the other end of parking lot there is a nice sitting area. Ducks and seagulls too. Alot of horse flys! No trash bins. The road seems to flood out too. Overall it's quiet and a nice drive to get there

This is a nice place to walk on the beach when the tide is out. If the tide is in, you may get stranded up the beach. It also is a great place to go to see the horseshoe crabs when they come on shore to lay their eggs.

It was off season so I am sure another season could be better for this beach. We stopped by on our drive on historic Rt. 9 from Smyrna. The beach was virtually deserted and we did not stay long due to colder weather.
