Went to Brandywine to do some light walking. The visitors center is small but the rangers were very friendly and well informed. There are several trails, none of them very long or taxing, but they are nice to walk.

There's not much elevation in Delaware; folks who climb the highest peaks in each state feast on Delaware. The Ebright Road benchmark (NGS disk EBRIGHT AZI) is 447.85 feet above sea level. There are 14 miles of very easy but in some points very scenic hiking here, particularly the two nature preserves and the third under development. Birders seem to... More

Lot of hills years ago did a lot of partying there. I do not think you can do that now but a great place for a picnic.

We paid the $10 out of state fee and parked at Thompsons Bridge. This was an excellent location to run on the Brandywine creek trail. It was a mix of paved and crushed stone path. Very nice scenic run along the shores of Brandywine Creek.

this is an amazing adventure park with lots of hiking, wildlife, canoe rides, and great scenery: it is great for the entire family, and very worthwhileA: it is accessible by bike or car, but I do not think public transportation

Come for solitude or family fun. Kayaking or hiking trails. Wonderful place to explore nature, with or without the children.

I enjoy walking my dog here in the Spring and Fall. Expect the unexpected wildlife as you would in any outdoor environment.

Good hiking on both sides of the Brandywine River. Good hills offer a great workout. Trails are becoming better marked and are generally easy to follow.

We wanted to see the river! Ended up hiking with a one-of-a-kind experience. It's a big jungle. With narrow pathways between tall trees. It was quite scary and seemed never ending many times, the smell of earth and trees and sounds of different birds was calming. Many butterflies around as well. We actually didn't start from the office/nature center and... More

Terrible, terrible policy...I drove do Delaware to check out the adjacent 1st State National Historic Park at Beaver Valley, which has no entrance fee. I had no intention that I would visit the adjacent Brandywine Creek State Park, which does charge a fee. Unfortunately, there were at least 3 road closures ON PUBLIC ROADS right in and around Brandywine Creek... More
