The artifacts on display at the Museum represent individuals, cultural groups, and events significant to the region. Some artifacts include: Fossils Hand-made Personal Objects Clothing Art Tools Agricultural Equipment Military Objects Communication Objects Household and Science Objects Admission is Free.

We came to Bartow to take in the annual Arts Festival on this beautiful March 4, 2017 day and noticed this grand old building that was open to the public for self guided tours so we decided to add it to our tour of the festival. Best county-run museum I've ever been. Something for everyone. Immaculate display and overall cleanliness. Rare items, like Nazi trophies of war, Seminole War era firearms, original Confederate officer commissions. Other rare items. We were pleasantly surprised at just how AWESOME this county historical museum is! First off, it's free! Second, it's two stories full of great areas to explore; we took a couple hours to see it all. Chock full of DAR books, ask for help with these. Unlike a lot of genealogy places, this one has many volumes of reference for many states, the Northeast, South, Civil War, as welll as family histories written by family members. We live in Bartow area and didn't know this gem was here. It was free and very interesting. They have great information and history about our area and the kids loved it. It is a must see.

ther are anumber of exhibits depicting the history of Polk County FL. Somr exhibits change from time to time.
