    great park and walking trail
great little park/museum to check out. Either an easy ~1 -1.5 mile loop around the park, on well maintained and clean wooden walkways. While it was very hot, there are shady huts or trees every few hundred feet to take a quick break. A few exhibits in the museum area reviewing the local wildlife and water cycle. Did not see a lot of animals, but a lot of dragonflies, a turtle, and a few birds.

    Great place to visit!
This was our first time and we were not disappointed ! We saw so many amazing birds! Spotted 2 alligators and lounging iguanas. The walk is a good width and has numerous out posts to sit or look more closely at your surroundings. The length of the walk- 1.2 miles I believe?- was perfect for a nice stroll though my husband and I discussed that it would be a great place to loop for exercise as well. The inside area was well done and the staff was welcoming and informative!

A beautiful place for a walk and nature
We stumbled on this wonderful, magical place and I'm so glad we did. It is a great way to take a walk outside and see nature and enjoy it all. They have raised boardwalks with railings, so it's very safe and beautiful. We saw two alligators, tons of different kinds of birds, lizards, and turtles. And we got 10,000 steps in because we did the loop twice! They have a nice nature center that you go in and read a lot about the development of the place, different animals, and a great gift shop. Highly recommend. Free parking and free experience.

    Amazing Experience
We came twice because we enjoyed this park so much! Great boardwalks that span over 1 1/2 miles in two directions! Stunning foliage and butterfly garden at the entrance, abundant and unusual bird life, marsh rabbits, alligators, snakes and more! We loved our walks here and hearing the birds all sing together!

    Enjoyable nature walk.
This is a beautiful place! The walk is approximately a 1 mile loop. There are a lot of covered sitting areas along the route just to sit and enjoy the scenery. There are large variety of birds to view and hear. The nature center is small but nicely done including restrooms and a little gift shop.

The birds nesting in season provide an outstanding experience. The only caveat is that parking can be tight during tourist season. The boardwalk is not very long and there are numerous opportunities to rest and enjoy nature.

Passed by the other and decided to drop in. The parking was packed. What a beautiful layout. Just wetlands surrounded by farms and developments. What a nice reprieve.

Major boardwalk that winds thru the wetlands highlighting local forna and wildlife.

The 1.5 mile boardwalk is well maintained. Level and not trip hazards as one would expect from wood out in the open sun. I'm very impressed with the maintenance they do. Restrooms are open even when the nature center is closed. Parking is for about 250 cars plus buses. When the car lot was full the boardwalk still didn't seem crowded. You will need a hat that won't blow off and some water if you plan on being there a while. It is mostly in the sun. Those that walk fast don't see the hidden birds, but maybe you are there just for a walk. Many diverse foliage areas for different types of birds. We spent 3 hours here very easily. In the beginning is a bird feeder trying to attract smaller birds. . There was millet so we did see the painted buntings. I sure would like to come here again, , parking seems to be an issue since the place is so popular, it just fills up. There is a security car that drives through once in a while for deterrent of theft. We felt very safe here.

I walk there every morning when the gates open at 6:30. Always something to see from birds, turtles to alligators.
