We love this long board walk with information signboards that describe the birds, animals and plant life that are make their homes at Green Cay. Today we saw a number of birds and, just a few feet away, an enormous alligator, named broken jaw for the obvious reason. A wonderful free resource that shouldn't be missed.

A visit to this dreamland proved to be one of the most exciting several hours we have spent in any outdoor setting possibly ever! Today was warm and breezy and I highly recommend wearing a hat that can be tied under your chin. Any breeze is exaggerated because of the wide opened setting of this location. If you venture out... Absolutely one of the best birdwatching sites in Southern Florida. Good parking facilities and free access. Easily spent a few hours here. And very nice feeders next to the entrance.

This is why we love living in South Florida...places like this- well-maintained, beautiful scenery- you feel transported to another world. We saw our first alligator! Lots of birds and bird-lovers. Bring your camera for sure! Take the one mile walk. They offer yoga and painting classes here which must be fabulous! This is on our list of places to bring... More

Beautiful place. Lots of walkways. Wonderful educational materials inside the building. Can be a hot sweaty walk in the summer.

There's a 1 mile looped board walk and a .5 mile looped board walk. Both are fairly flat and give you great views of animals in their natural habitats. You'll see birds, turtles, fish, and crocodiles. There's a visitor center, but it was closed this time we went. Bathrooms are located outside the visitor center, so those were still accessible.

We love this place. It's what Florida was probably like before condos and retirees like me invaded. It is an oasis. A paradise of wonderful flora and fauna. A great place to walk and enjoy the wonders of nature. We go here often as we live about 10 minutes away.

Took the grandchildren to see the living exhibits. Great fun to see nature without having to travel.

This is an approximately 1 mile loop along a boardwalk through a wetland nature preserve. While the types of wildlife will vary depending on the day, there are many possibilities here. The boardwalk is mostly level with benches and shade at reasonable intervals. There is free parking and a visitor center. At the entrance, there is a butterfly garden and... More
