About
Manatee Sanctuary Park boasts over 10 acres of riverfront beauty. Situated on the Banana River, this park has a little something for everyone! 4 Horseshoe Pits 1/2 Mile Paved Fitness Trail 10 Exercise Stations Covered Riverside Boardwalk Picnic Tables & Grills Covered Pavilion with Basic Kitchen (Available for daily Rentals & Private Events) & Even the OCCASIONAL Manatee! Manatee Sanctuary Park is home to the annual Cape Canaveral Founder's Day Festival every March & Space Coast Dragon Boat Festival every April! This park is named Manatee Sanctuary because it borders a section of the Banana River that serves as a protected Manatee habitat. While we cannot guarantee that you will see a manatee during your visit, these beautiful creatures have been known to come and feed off the sea grass along the boardwalk. Manatees enjoy warm waters and typically move to inland springs during the winter months. They are considered an endangered species and fall under highly protective legislation. To learn more about these amazing animals, including where to see them year round, please visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website.

Don’t expect to see manatees
Oct. 2021 • Couples
A nice park but this guy is the only manatee we saw. A great place to view sunsets and a nice walking path but don’t expect to see manatees.

Very nice place

A very nice place for a leisurely walk around and shade in the elevated pavilions. We will return while vacationing again in the future. Looks like a nice place for a picnic.

No manatees that day but nice park!

Stopped by knowing that Manatee season wasn't exactly this time frame. The squirrels and walking path were superb. The platform to view was a very nice touch. The exercise stations on the pathway added to anyone could use the park area.

Where are the manatees?
Apr. 2021 • Family
This park is nice, good play ground equipment and walking paths but we didn’t see ANY manatees! There weren’t even any signs pointing to where you might see a manatee. Maybe it’s just the name of the park but we were expecting to see some manatees. The bathrooms were clean.

Nice Little Park; No Manatee on this trip
Dec. 2020
I was hopeful, but this park isn't really very big, and I think the area where we might have seen manatee is a pretty small area. There are two covered pavilions with a wooden boardwalk that connects the two pavilions. Plenty of parking in the lot. There is a very nice playground for kids, and there are bathrooms, but I didn't go in.

Okay for kids to play

Nice park but kind of slow this time of year. Outdoor exercise equipment was unappealing. But, good place for kids to run around.

Nice park, no manatees
Dec. 2020 • Couples
Nice park with a nice cover boardwalk unfortunately the wind was so strong the water was choppy and cloudy.

Coldest day of the year. No manatees were viewable.

Must have been the wrong time of day...

So we stopped in here mid-afternoon hoping to glimpse a manatee or two but the only one we saw was the mother and her calf statue in the park. A nice park with a fitness trail but would have been icing on top to see the real deal.

Really nice park with a cool boardwalk overlooking the water. There are exercise stations and a large walking path around the park.

A LOVELY part, with all kinds of facilities, walkways, water and the Indian River.

This is a favorite picnic spot for us - very peaceful, nice grounds, "boardwalks" along scenic routes (with covered sitting areas), a picnic pavilion, always some fauna to see, even if we have only spotted manatees once! Something for all ages with a playground, walks, benches and a fitness path to follow with workout spots along the way.
