Visited while we are on vacation at Cedar Key and enjoyed the visit to the museum and the St Clair Whitman house. Never seen so many shells in one place. Interesting story of how the house was saved. Enjoyed walking the dog around the trail. Well worth the modest admission of $2.00 each.

Excellent exhibits and a Park Ranger who knew everything about the local area and answered all of our questions.

This is a great way to spend an hour or so learning about the history of Cedar Key. The well-informed ranger and volunteers are helpful without being too hovering. Make time to walk through the house to see what living was like in the '20's and '30's.

It is a nice museum. The house was restored, but looks like it needs it again. Lots of history about the area.

For less than the price of a good cup of coffee you can learn about Cedar Key history and more about Florida. The Whitman House is worth the trip alone. Nice staff and worth the time to visit.

We did not go to the museum, but we walked the trail. Not a lot to see, but seemed like a good place to launch a kayak (not sure if you are allowed to but people were).

Well worth the $2.00 entrance fee. Nice displays and truly enjoyed the house. Reminds me of my grandparents when I was a child - old Florida crackerhouse. The museum hostess was exceptional and very helpful in explaining the museum and it's contents.

The whitman's house is fascinating. Mr. Whitman was written in the national geographic in 1955 for his collection of shells. This is a must see.

Worth a stop, admission is $2. Very small self-guided museum with some info about the area. Separate house out back of museum's founder was interesting to see. There's also a very short walking trail that has a few park benches and water views.
