Ruth Eckerd Hall's near perfect acoustics have received rave reviews from artists, technicians and audience members since opening in 1983. Combined with state of the art equipment, comfortable amenities and world class entertainment, it's no wonder that it has been recognized as one of Tampa Bay's best concert halls numerous times as well as a finalist for Pollstar's Theater of the Year twice. In 2003, the Hall's audience chamber received a complete refurbishment, its 2,180 seats were reconfigured to accommodate more patrons with disabilities, and lobby and restrooms were expanded.Ruth Eckerd Hall has continental-style seating. Almost every patron prizes a center seat and continental-style provides the maximum possible. There are no support columns, no obstructed views. Seating is sloped and staggered. For safety and comfort, the aisle space is wider than traditional layouts; entry and exit can be made while patrons remain seated. There are 14 sets of double doors leading out from the audience chamber. With this configuration, a full house can be cleared in a matter of minutes.Among the original community leaders who conceptualized building a performing arts center this side of Tampa Bay, was Jack Eckerd. During construction, Mr. Eckerd designated a significant contribution as a birthday gift to his beloved wife, Ruth, making the dream a reality. The Hall proudly bears her name.

Obviously, the hall was made for maximum acoustics. We attended the America/3 Dog Night concert, and whoever was in charge of the mixing, either had bad equipment or bad ears. Enjoyed the concert, but would have been so much better if the acoustics were better. Roomy aisles & comfortable seats. Nice that parking was free.

We attended a performance (109 Years of Broadway by Neal Berg) and it was very good and enjoyable. Seats are nice and aisles are roomy, but surprisingly, the aisles are long - from one side to the other so everyone has to climb over each other. Why not remove about 4 seats in the middle and make the aisles shorter... More

I love going to Ruther Eckerd Hall. It's a smaller venue which makes the show seem so personal. Volunteers assist you and everything is orderly. I have never done the pre-dinner shows but would like to. Convenient parking or valet.

They offer a wide selection of new and old entertainment. Every seat is good in this semi circular hall and the sound system is spectacular. There is ample parking but get there early to go through security checks. There are no middle aisles and the rows are very long, so the end seat people get disturbed often. This is a big venue,... More

My wife and I were here this past for the Don Henley concert, and we had a great experience. Parking was really easy, and free as many other reviewers have pointed out. We parked in the large parking lot on the left before you circle the building. Despite the concert being a sell-out, after the show it only took us... More

Have seen two shows here since moving from NYC area. I love the fee large easy access parking lots, a real treat from NYC. I think there should be more isles as once you get into your seat it is hard to get out. The rows are very very long and at one of the concerts it would have been... More

We became members after seeing tickets for Van Morrison reselling for thousands! On arriving for the 8pm performance we had to go through screening procedure and my 1inch blade on my key ring was deemed a weapon even though my car key was longer in length and just as dangerous. Therefore had to return to my car and deposit said weapon... More

This performing arts theater is located in Clearwater, FL. It is a large and beautiful concert hall theater, perfect for live musical performances. Great views of the stage from any of the stadium-style seats and great acoustics. We attended a performance over the weekend of "River Dance", and it was excellent. Good facilities, plenty of parking, refreshment and snack area,... More
