We were targeted by parking enforcement here. The park was ridiculously busy and trucks hauling kayak trailers parked all over. We did not see any signs that said pay to park. We asked someone if the manatees were close and were told no, they went further out in the river because it was warmer day. We went to the bathroom and left. We weren’t there for even 10mins and received a $50 ticket. This is a prime example of targeting. Beware visiting Crystal River and are not forgiving. If you contest the ticket and lose (which I was told by a LE supervisor a judge would never dismiss it) you have to pay an additional $500. We will never visit Crystal River again.

Like other first-time visitors who reported about the $50 parking ticket, I am hoping to help others not make the same mistake. I went with an out-of-state friend who was visiting. I have only been to Crystal River a few times since I moved to Florida. Neither one of us can walk for long distances. We never saw any manatees. We apparently parked in the King's Bay overflow lot. The sign was very confusing and we thought the parking fee was only if you were launching a kayak or other vessel. We did look around to see if there were any parking pay machines and did not see any. I called the city manager and spoke to the the park ranger supervisor and did not get anywhere. The park ranger told me "you'll never get the perfect sign". I suggested a sign that says "Anyone who parks in this lot must pay for parking" or something similar would be nice. Most people will only see the top of the sign as they are entering the parking lot if they see it at all. I hope other senior citizens avoid this place so they don't get ripped off. We went to Three Sisters Springs park a couple of days later and finally saw the manatees. Great experience over there. If you go to Three Sisters be sure to park in the Bank of America lot and it is a short walk to where you pick up the shuttle, there are signs posted in the shopping center that you can't park there. I wish I had read the reviews before I went over to King's Pay. We went to Three Sisters first but the last entry was at 3:30 p.m. I read in another review that if you try to contest the ticket, the judge will order you to pay $500 so under protest I suppose I will have to pay it.

I took a kayak tour and the company said to meet them at Kings Bay Park. It was a great trip, but I came back to a parking ticket! There are NO signs to state this a Pay to Park lot. The actual machine was hidden from view behind some trees. I won’t be back and that’s unfortunate for all of the water sports companies who are trying to make a living there.

This is a small park but very clean and well kept up. Very clean bathrooms and you can launch your kayaks from your trailers right there by the park. Bring a lunch and enjoy the natural beauty of this special place

Anything to get money! My grandchildren will never get to experience and explore the area and 3 Sisters Springs like their parents did. The local government closes off free access. And charges for everything.

Great kayak launch, clean rest rooms, but the parking kiosk was a real pain to use. After messing with it for about 10 minutes I was only able to get an hour. Fortunately, I did not get a ticket.

This park is nice and clean, but very small. There is a parking fee to get in to the amenities. There are several things you can do at this park including BBQ, fish, picnic, dock a boat and launch a kayak.
The problem is that it's a small area so it gets crowded fairly quickly. Reservations are available through the park Rangers.

A great park to go to, plenty of space. There’s a pier you can walk on and watch the fishermen and manatees.

Small, clean bay-side park. Saw a manatee in the park within 15 minutes of arrival. Watched dolphins feeding and playing on our second day in town near evening.
