We are very interested in history, but were most disappointed to find out the extremely limited opening hours of this history room. We weren't able to visit on a Tuesday or a Saturday, so very much appreciated the opening hours os the Bligh Museum in Adventure Bay.

A must stop for visitors interested in Bruny history. Newspaper cuttings from many years ago, comprehensive history of old families, Bruny life, activities, tragedies, social events and significant Islanders.

Both my husband and myself found ourselves engrossed by the great collection of newspaper articles and artefacts. William Bligh planted the first Tasmanian apple tree and grapevine! Who knew Bruny Island played such an important role in Australia's history?

Well worth a look. Photos, maps and much information. So much work has been done behind the scenes to put this "little" room together.

Small but packed with local history. Only open Post Office hours but it is free and worth a little bit of your time.
