A new state-of-the-art planetarium and the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art showcasing the largest collection of Florida-based art in the world, rounds out areas to explore inside the Museum of Arts & Sciences. Great visit. We had a wonderful time visiting this museum, so much so that we became members. Entrance fee is waived the first Tuesday of the month, I recommend the visit. We look forward to going back often during the upcoming year.

My wife and I are still relatively new to Daytona Beach and decided to check out this museum today as they offer residents free admission on the first Tuesday of each month. We spent about 1.5 hours and only saw about 1/4 of the entire museum as it is deceptively large with many rooms and many collections including serval changing exhibits. It has a large 'hands-on' children section of the museum that we will definitely take our grandkids to and a planetarium (but the shows were all in the afternoons and we were there in the morning when it opened so we will come back in the afternoon to check-out). We have been to many museums world-wide and were really impressed to have such a nice hidden gem right where we live.

This was one of our favorite outings during a recent weekend getaway. Most of Daytona doesn't seem to think COVID exists. Our visit to the museum made us feel so comfortable. It might not be booming business days for them but it's the perfect time to check things out! Limited to 25% capacity and people actually wearing masks! We enjoyed the exhibits and decided to switch to an annual pass by the time we left as we know we'll be back. The lady at the front desk was very friendly as well. Nice 20-minute break to catch the Planetarium show as well. Can't wait to return.

Hubby and I visited a Monday morning and found this place to be really lovely and nicely laid out. There was a nice variety of art, as well as interesting collections and exhibits. We really enjoyed the variety! The place is spacious, well maintained, and has several benches for absorbing the art or just relaxing before moving onto another exhibit. The general admission includes one planetarium show, which was also very enjoyable. We felt the admission fee was fair. One thing I will mention is that it was pretty chilly in there, so you may wish to take a sweater or light jacket.

Very interesting place. Great variety of things. Some art, some history, some science. The planetarium was small but very nice. You could spend a short time there or all day as there is a lot to read and look at. They have special days for locals and Bank of America card holders that can get you in for cheap or free (I cannot remember what they said exactly).

We visited this museum at the end of December 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the galleries here. There was a wide variety of interesting things to view, including American decorative arts and furnishings, Chinese and Micronesia artwork, African artifacts, and more. One small exhibit featured beautiful decorative fans; getting to view them up close allowed us to appreciate their intricate designs. The “Visible Storage” room contained numerous shelves full of items from their collections not currently on active display—what a great idea! (I am always curious about the items I don’t get to see when I visit museums with large collections.) The Coca-Cola artifacts were fun to see (so many different style Coke bottles!).

Throughout the various galleries, there was very informative and educational signage about the exhibit contents, which raised the level of curation here and enhanced my experience. (We were quite surprised to find a museum of this caliber in a beach town like Daytona Beach!)

We did not view a planetarium show or explore the outdoor areas (the weather was not conducive), but we did make a stop at the separate art museum on their campus (reviewed separately).

All in all, we spent 90 minutes here exploring all the galleries. We really enjoyed the variety of artwork and artifacts on view in this nice-sized museum. Our admission was free through our NARM membership; there was plentiful free parking.

1st visit. Was very shocked. Was pretty good. We went for the planetarium, and the art and kids museum was nice. My husband was not into the art but he liked it. My daughter is a teen and enjoyed it. We missed the Andy Warhol traveling art show (time to meet family). We would go back. I would recommend getting the combo ticket so you can see the fine art museum next door. I also recommend coming early, see the first show, the walk around after and buy 2nd show to the planetarium. See two shows if timed right and we’ll worth it.

Outstanding group of Museums. Plan on spending the day. The art museum covering pictures of Florida from well known artists over the late 1800s to present with excellent signage for the artist and about the painting.
The science part covered a great exhibit on the Root family covering some vehicles, including formula one type race cars, two observation train cars, a teddy bear exhibit and early Coca Cola machines and point of sale equipment.
There is a children's museum, furniture display and finally a planetarium. All well done and worth a visit or more.

Fabulous museum & planetarium (included with admission). They have two full sized train cars. It's decor is like you're in a subway station. You can take as many selfies and photos as you like. In fact, they encourage it.

They have many large rooms to explore. I don't want to spoil the experience. Some include: a Coke-cola room, a doll room, turn of the century drug store & diner setup, children's hands-on touch room, visual experience room, many types of antique furniture and glassware to see and enjoy.. (Don't worry it's behind plexiglass, safe for the little-ones) (That's enough for now) I don't want to spoil the rest.

There's a little area out the museum the little ones can make music and a nature trail to explore.

There's a gift shop. Really good prices and discounts.

a large and eclectic museum with a wide variety of art on display, as well as a "coca-cola" collection, antique weapons and visual storage. The planetarium shows are hourly and very good. A blue star museum, free to veterans and military members.
