The tour of DeBary Hall should be shouted to the rooftops because in a very short time you are introduced to the magnetism of Florida as she once was before the days of theme parks and luxury hotels. The St. Johns River was THE artery into the state and all visitors used this beautiful river to penetrate the interior of... More

It was very educational , we got to tour the Historic House, saw a power point presentation about the history of the Fredrick debary mansion..so interesting to see how our ancestors were so amazing and strong to build, hunt, and live off the land without running water and no electricity. .good Ole days

This is truly a wonderful historic site away from all the hustle and bustle of the attractions and the well-known tourist spots (and traps!) in the Central Florida area - Orlando, specifically. Located just north of Orlando in Volusia County, this Hall sits on a most majestic 10 acres. It served as the winter retreat of wealthy European Frederick DeBary... More

I just happened to fall upon this place while out doing garage sales. I went by myself the next day and really enjoyed it. I loved to hear about how Debary was founded. Old pictures on the walls show orange groves and country side, now developed with houses. The house architecture is incrediable. I love the old quality wood work.... More

This was a nice piece of history for the grand kids to see. I loved the look of the building and all the things inside.

On the spur of the moment, I took my 15 year old son to visit DeBary Hall. The docent turned out to be the Manager and she was patient with my special needs son. We both explained how things works that he had never seen before, what it was like to have a bed pan, why there were transoms over... More

My school took our Kindergarten classes to the DeBary Hall for a field trip. Although the hall is very nice to see, the content of the field trip was not appropriate for Kindergarten students. The other teachers and the chaperones enjoyed learning about Debary's history but the students were bored.

This place is beautiful. We go on Thursdays. They have a kids story time, where they read a book and often do an excellent craft.

We live next to Walt Disney World. With so much excitement and activity surrounding us it seemed odd we never heard about Debarry Hall. It's a mere hour drive north of our home and like something out of a fantasy novel. The tour starts with a Virtual Reality there but according to the docent by engineers that worked on other attractions... More
