This is a first magnitude spring and pumps 400 million gallons of water per day. The spring is wonderful to swim in. We went during the week and almost had the spring to ourselves. Crystal clear water and it is 72 degrees. Go when the...More

My family and I love to visit springs and Rainbow Spring was not far from where we were staying. When we arrived I immediately noticed how beautiful the environment was. We were just looking to swim, but learned that they also offered kayak rentals. Unfortunately...More

Maybe Florida Gov't big wigs have decided to cherry pick what parks will be maintained and which parks will be left to die from neglect...IDK what has happened, but this park pulled the short straw...Such amazing potential, it would take one large landscaping company one...More

I knew that there were places with crystal clear water, but the few places I have been before was not deep enough and with ten people in the water kicking up the silt it was no longer clear by the time I got there. But...More

Nice park. Easy walk. Great views. Crowded on summer weekends. Almost empty during late fall and winter but still beautiful.

Great 2.5 mile river tubing had fun no drinking or food aloud. Can bring your own tube but still have to pay 15.00 per person saw fish ducks and alligators.

Our trip was a last minute adventure and I was worried the parking would be limited. For $5 you can get in to the tubing part of the park. I'm not sure what this fee covers as there is an additional $15 per person fee...More

The park cost $2 per person. This included parking. The waterfalls here are cute. The water is absolutely gorgeous like blue Bahamas water! The only con to this park is if you have kids who do not know how to swim you'll have a hard...More

On our way to Anna Maria we decided to check out the springs and it was beautiful!! We went on a Friday morning and it was not crowded at all! If you have snorkel gear I suggest you bring it!

Tom and I spent our afternoon at Rainbow Springs State Park today. Even though it isn't 'azalea season' it still is beautiful at the park and very reasonably priced (Entrance fee is $2 per adult) The water is blue-green, the foliage is lush, and the...More

Tubing is closed from October through March. Perhaps because winter is when the manatees are in the area. But the website shows the swimming area at the head springs is open. I would call and check though to be sure. Hope... More

Not when we went at all! We didn't even have to park that far from the entry. We got there around 1 pm and it was busy, but not crowded. It's beautiful 😊

There is really no current, a average swimmer can swim against the current. So I would put in at the camping park paddle up to the spring walk around and then float or paddle back. We did it two days and it was no issues.
