Bathrooms were very clean and with flush toilets and running water. Easy launch area for kayaks, with little power boat traffic in the area.

Poe / Royal Palms and Shark Valley are the two main entrances to Everglades NP, but this one is right there with it's hand up trying to be recognized. I think people who don't want a boat tour shy away from here and, truthfully, other...More

We enjoyed talking to the park ranger volunteers. They were very informative and answered all of our questions. Never felt rushed. There were some interesting displays.

Great place to spend an hour or two and get immersed in the area's original state as well as the status today.

Stop by and sign up for a boat trip - it is a great way to see Ten Thousand Islands. Wildlife was everywhere, from many pairs of dolphins, turtles, birds, etc.

I'm a big fan of national parks and I learn so much from my visits. We did the junior ranger badge program- watched a film, explored the exhibit and spoke with a park ranger. I agree with previous reviewers about the store downstairs, they were...More

It's not the museum in town yet it worked. As everyone says, make sure to go upstairs. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The public bathrooms were clean and large.

This small, but interesting visitor center is an important place to stop if you are considering kayaking, canoeing, or boating the West Coast of Everglades National Park. The staff is a wealth of knowledge and good advice.

My wife and I are traveling with our 38 year old son who is a paraplegic and requires a roll in shower. Do you have any rooms that would accommodate us or do we need to book to rooms adjoin and connect. I want to stay Sunday February 15 through Thursday February 19. Thank you so much for your help. I just can not afford 2 rooms each night. Karl Lutgens

No, I believe you can arrange canoe trips with the rangers (don't know if they are free). The 2 boat trips you can purchase from the concession store and they each cost around $40. Both of them are great value for money.
