There are many great things about this state park, the historic fort, the campground, the beach etc. Today we took a nice walk from the river campground to Willow Pond Nature Trail where we saw an armadillo, four deer, a raccoon and many squirrels and...More

Awesome place to visit for History, exploration, and wildlife. The staff is friendly and willing to answer any questions. Castle is a must see. If you like to camp, that option is available ocean side or riverside!!

Plenty of trails and beach for all you'd want to do outside. Great place for shells at low tide, great view of the lighthouse, very nice.

I'm sorry I didn't see the question sooner but I would say it is worth driving through. I enjoyed looking at the trees.
