We stayed here for the first time and really enjoyed it. The camp spots are meticulously maintained and the bathroom and shower facility is one of the nicest I have seen. If you are tent camping I would recommend staying on the river side. It can be very windy on the ocean side and the ocean camp ground just looks a bunch of parking spots close together for RVs. The river camp ground has more space between sites in many cases. You will want a perimeter site if you are in a tent and one small enough to prevent RVs from parking next to you. Having electric and water water at each site was helpful. We charged our phones and clean things in the water.

There are a lot of very nice parks nearby like Bulow Plantation, Bulow Creek, and others that I highly recommend.

I camped a night here. Check in was easy, and I camped riverside. It’s common for beach side to be fully booked but I just walked across the street to the beach easily. It was very nice and accessible.
The bathrooms were so very clean, and the showers got very hot and/or cold which was really convenient. There was access to washer/dryer also. The camp hosts were extremely pleasant. I just had a wonderful experience here and will be back. Highly recommend.

This was our first time staying at this state park, right on the beach! We were with another couple and parked side by side. We have a converted van and they have a 16 foot trailer. There was plenty of space in our parking areas, complete with electric and water hook-ups, a nice picnic table and a fire pit ring. A beach overlook was just 20 feet away. Great for watching the sunrise! We used the large bathroom facility, which had nice showers. We brought our own SUP’s and enjoyed paddleboarding on the intracoastal waterway. Tons of mangroves to paddle through and we were all alone in this natural habitat! Just gorgeous! We look forward to coming here again!

Apparently this place is hard to get reservations but found a solitary Saturday night open on October 31 and stayed here for the night in our RV. It’s an awesome campground. Pet friendly but you can’t bring your dog on the beach in front of the park you have to go to the south or north end. The south end has a gate easy to get to the beach and our dog loved it. Would love to stay longer but with the reservation system online it seems like all the camping spots in Central Florida where we live are always booked up. They need to have a better system for people to cancel because there were several spots at this campground that went unused over the weekend which I’m sure other people would’ve liked to use. Even though it said all spots were reserved online .
The Rangers were very nice to check in and the bathrooms clean like the other reviews have said. I would definitely like to stay here longer to enjoy the beach and possibly bring a boat as there is a boat ramp here are the access to the intracoastal. The other campers were very friendly and had well behaved dogs. A bicycle would be good too because the sidewalks go north and south forever. Beautiful site, love to see these well-managed state parks so much better than private campgrounds that are always gross and too close to each other. Will be back

We were lucky enough to get in on the beach side of the road. The sites inland are good for people who want it quieter ( no sounds of road traffic or ocean waves) or who want less sand tracking in, or a bit more space. All sites are good. The staff and volunteers are so good, taking care of the park and the sites and the interesting programs.
Lots to do in the area too. Flagler Beach is a nice town, just North and Ormond and Daytona Beach is just south of here.
It’s not always easy to get a spot here, but we like it.

Nice campground nice stuff but campers should not be allowed to burn wet wood and smoke everybody else out. It ruined my whole trip because I have severe asthma. I had to sit in my trailer with an N 95 mask on and still had a hard time it ruined my whole time. I think the Rangers should watch for that stuff.

Quiet campground. Loved being right on ocean. Palmetto blocked some of the breeze which was good because it was chilly. Nice nature trails. Dog friendly-even have a section of beach where dogs are allowed. Terrific view of a night rocket launch.

Beautiful! Fishing is great lots of piers. Place is like new.....only thing no trees on campsites . Little miss leading when booking. Sites r not on beach or on river. Just views. Must cross piers and walk to beach. Only river across is at canoe pier. Very very strict rules but reason it's so nice! We live 2 hours and will come back. Beware of gators lots of water wildlife. Service dogs only.

This was our third visit to this campground. The facilities are still excellent as well as the nearness to the beach. The spaces are close and parking a camper can be tight. The beach is good for sitting, but not so much for walking or shelling. The golden sand is difficult to walk in. There are several hiking areas nearby. Watching for Right Whales was a treat. We learned the day we were leaving that a mother and calf had been seen right off shore a week earlier. Also, it is easy to bike into the small town of Flagler Beach for good restaurants like The Vessel.

Great park for camping near the beach. Very well kept, dog friendly, staff is very nice. Be aware that the site sizes are spot on, so if you reserve a too small site you probably won’t fit.
