Hello, Hubby and I were looking for a place to walk. I read about this preserve online, the boardwalk is a pretty place for a walk. I was surprised at how long the boardwalk was, nice views and lots of birds around.

I did not find this lovely place until my last day in Flagler Beach! I would have been here every single day had I known it existed! Such an insanely beautiful place. Being at such peace with your surroundings is incredibly good for the soul! We saw wood storks, egrets, heron, cormorant, and even a majestic bald eagle. Kudos to whomever maintains this lovely nature walk. I highly recommend this! (Oh, and note that dogs on leash are welcome, but it IS a boardwalk & there's no place to go if you meet an oncoming dog.)

Highly rec. this beautiful walk along boardwalk to intercostal.... it is an easy 1.5 walk and has 3 benches along the way for people who are a little more limited and need to rest. I am always looking for places that I can take my 77 yr mother on.

This is very difficult to find! Don't trust your GPS. Take Flagler Avenue just over the bridge (or just before, depending on your route).

The preserve itself is nice for a stroll. Along with the boardwalk, there's also a "natural surface" trail. .

We had a good time, but won't be back again due to the difficulty in finding/getting to this attraction.

I really hate to publish a review of this local treasure for fear of it getting too popular! It is a wonderful walk over the marsh on a boardwalk that in places could be miles from nowhere. Great for viewing seabirds and sometimes a deer. Where the boardwalk ends, the trail winds through a beautiful woodland. I walk my dog here as do other locals. There is also a small fishing pier at the end of the boardwalk which is a great place to catch a sunset.

This is one of our favorite, local finds in Flagler Beach. It is a simple boardwalk across the salt marsh, but provides a peaceful, flat walk, maybe a third a mile, entered from either a parking lot near the bridge (Route 100), or from the back of the town library. Dogs on leashes welcome. While there are a few resting spots, it really has no shade, so it's a better walk either in the AM, later in the day, or in the winters. It can be breezy at the river. Plenty of birds to observe. It is hard to get lost, since it isn't very long, but it does wind a bit, and could get confusing. (Definitely suggest you look at Google maps before you come, so you can understand its layout.) A spur goes out to the river.

Bathrooms are at the parking lot, or at the boat ramps right under the bridge. Covered picnic area is at dedicated parking lot. Going WEST, the entrance to the lot is the last right before the bridge, North Flagler, and then left onto Moody Lane. Watch for the signs to go South (Left) under the bridge to the lot.

Would be a nice walk for older, active adults, kids/ infants in strollers OK. Toddlers would have to be carefully watched. We have never seen an alligator, although they live in the waters. Since you are up on a boardwalk, it seems very safe. Bring a camera if you enjoy shooting pictures of birds.

There is no map at entrance or anywhere on trail. Can easily get lost so take a gps.
There are many birds on the boardwalk and much to see.

We used ,the entrance in back of the library. Good parking. The boardwalk went thru a salt marsh with great views and It led to the intracoastal. Wear a hat - very sunny walk. . We walked the boardwalk to the opposite entrance under the bridge to increase the distance walked. That walk is not as pretty. Saw some egrets

This boardwalk can be really enjoyable if you happen to see egrets, herons, maybe a turtle, etc., but it doesn't always occur. We've been here many times, but our experiences have varied. Mostly good. However, at times we've felt somewhat unsafe when 5 or 6 young guys are just hanging out together half way through the boardwalk or when an unsavory man is hanging around one of the benches along the way. We've felt vulnerable since the boardwalk is isolated and narrow. Another time we saw 4 hippie-types sleeping in the gazebo with their backpacks nearby, obviously on a trek and later seen in the public bathroom taking a sponge bath in the sink. Nothing harmful or threatening has ever occurred to us, but, as a female who's a senior, I would NEVER go there by myself! Even with my husband by my side, I carry pepper spray just to play it safe. Sorry to be negative about such a lovely place, but that's reality.
