We try to visit as many NP as we can. Happy to have made it here. Come in the winter months, less crowds. Plan where you stay because there are several entrances. We stayed in Homestead and accessed 2 entrances. It is about an hrs. drive to the Shark Valley entrance from Homestead. The other entrance we used was Ernest Coe which is about 15 min from Homestead. If doing an airboat ride recommended Buffalo Tiger. We support the Natives who were driven from their land. The tram ride is decent( 2hrs) in shark valley. Reserve and they run on the hrs. I was hoping to get over to the Big cypress preserve but ran out of time. That's about 2hr drive from Homestead. Better off staying on the gulf side if you want to do that. Lots to do and it can be done if you plan it right. Enjoy a wonderful beauty of a NP

    Nature at it's finest
If you love nature and wildlife, you won't be disappointed. It's a very different location and sometimes you have to look closely to see the details of the environment ... like little tiny lizards. Then there are the standouts like herons and egrets. It was hot, for sure, but worth it to get a view into this very unique environment that is protected and in it's natural state. I'd highly recommend the boat tour at the Flamingo Visitors Center that goes out into the bay. We saw manatees and a bald eagle and many other bird species.

    Everglades NP Does Not Disappoint!
SO MUCH amazing wildlife and natural beauty! We saw in the wild - alligators, large turtles, blue heron, egrets, ibis, multiple manatee, fish, an alligator nest with four young ones, and more anhinga than we could count! (Saw an alligator having a turtle for lunch. Incredible!) We took an airboat ride and also the Shark Valley Visitors Center tram - on both we learned tons about the various animals and eco-systems. Spent two full days in different parts of Everglades, including numerous shorter hikes on boardwalks. Another great National Park experience!

do SUNSET on the Anhinga trail for great animal activity- so close to entrance too!
What a pleasant surprise! The anhinga trail close to the entrance is a must! gators moving so slow, the anhingas spreading their wings, and to sit on the boardwalk on that marshy lake and just hear all the noises (bird calls, gator snaps, fish in the water, turtles eating flowers) - wow. best to go at sunset!

Beautiful walks with lots of flora and fauna
Lots to see! We spent an entire day entering at the Homestead Entrance. Remember there is a fee per car, but we have our annual pass so no issue. Stop at the Visitor Center to get a map and also do a little learning from their exhibition. You can drive throughout the park from this entrance and there are multiple places to get out and take very short walks/hikes. These are perfect for those who want to see a lot but not do strenuous hiking. Make sure you have sunblock as it is scorching without a lot of shade. Be prepared with your camera as there are so many animals and you will want to remember them all. The birds were amazing, especially the pink ones! There are gators so be careful and aware. We also stopped at the marina at the end of the road and saw manatees. There are also guided tours by park rangers. Airboat rides are also popular as is the tram. We were too spur-of-the moment for those but wanted to mention. Fun for the whole family.

    Everglades is a birders paradise
Everglades National Park has so much to see its hard to know what to do. My recommendations...do the tram tour at Shark Valley (sit on driver's side for good pictures). This tour is informative and you should see a lot of birds and gators. Do the boat tour of 10,000 Islands out by Everglades city sponsored by the NP. The captain is great. We saw Osprey, white pelicans, oyster catchers etc and lots of dolphins! Do the Anhinga trail, it's a short easy walk and you will see a lot of birds and gators and turtles.

Went in the wet season... you'll see more in dry season
We signed up for a tour at the visitors office. We were the only ones on the tour and the biologist/tour guide was terrific. We didn't see any alligators or flamingos, saw a small fish or two and a large number of grasshoppers. The place was covered. Enjoyed the tour.

My experience couldn't be better. As a first timer, I really enjoyed every second. If you love nature then this is a must
The place is amazing and the staff too. We had a show first and the guy was insanely fun. Then we went to get our group photo and a solo photo with a baby alligator. Remember to bring the flyer that days two free photis $20 value in order to get your two free photos. Otherwise, you might get one for free or pay for it. Then we went to our tour with the amazing CAPTAIN! BABY DACE He definitely made our tour fun, unique and educational. Our tour was on July 11th 2023 and we booked with Big Bus company.

    Great Trip!!!!
Was told the encounters were excellent. I was not disappointed!! We got to see gators, snakes, even a bearded dragon. My family had such a great time. Victor was so patient with my kids and the pictures are a true keepsake. My kids were not the simplest to work with, but Vincent took the time to make them feel not only comfortable, but special. Thanks so much Vincent!!!

    Loved spotting the gators!
We drove up from The Keys through the everglades to our last holiday rental villa at Cape Coral for the last 10 days of our 3 week holiday. There are many different habitats with different wildlife..of course the alligators are never far! Just lovely.

Make no mistake: The Everglades are amazing. But if you go, you'll see that the Everglades themselves extend well outside of Everglades National Park. While it's great that so much of the Everglades are federally protected, we found that the really amazing stuff - the airboat tours, the mangrove tunnels, the wildlife, was actually in the Big Cypruss National Preserve to the north of the national park.

The National Park itself is fine, especially if you have kids, but there was nothing we saw on the tram tour that we didn't see on the much more extensive airboat and kayak tours we took up in Big Cypruss Preserve.

This is a good 1-2 day adventure. We did an air boat ride on the morning and then visited the Ernest F Coe visitors center, the Flamingo visitors center and walked Anhingas and Gumbo Limbo trail at Royal Palm. Mohagany hammock also a good stroll.

Airboat was ok, animals live in a huge place, BUT THEN they made a show where they keep alligators in a small place and the guy annoy (HE USE THIS WORD) them just for show, next stop was an HORRIBLE LAGER ZOO where they keep animals in WAY TOO SMALL CAGES, some of them have barely space to move
If we know they keep this poor animals in this condition we would never come

The Ranger led tram tour at the Shark Valley Visitor Center was excellent. Keep in mind that they only sell snacks (no restaurant) & dining options are few in the Everglades, so plan ahead.

Loved it. Nice boat tour. Saw the gators in the water and any birds with beautiful colours. Our captain "baby face" was awsome and explained very well what we were seeing.
