The house has served as a trading post, post office, community center, town hall and home to the Stranahans. The Stranahan House has stood at the center of Fort Lauderdales growth since it was built and played a significant role in the economic and social life of this community.

A historic gem a real look back in time. The tours are great I have been here numerous times. They do a lot of weddings, events, functions.

This house sits on the bank of theTarpon River. The walls and ceilings of the house are covered with beautiful, local wood. The story of the family that lived there was interesting and we enjoyed the tour.

A great little house just off the shore of New River. Our guide was passionate and really loved telling stories about Frank and Ivy the original owners. The tour was very informative and we learned a lot about the house and the history of the area. Glad we stopped in for a visit.

Went here during their Christmas lights and boat tour. Lived in South Florida for 12 years without ever checking it out, but glad I finally did!! The tour was insightful while engaging the audience. Extremely informative and very interesting!

On the water taxi stop and right of Las Olas. Very interesting tour, a real step back in time to the early days of Ft Lauderdale. Worth a look!

The Stranahan house is a pretty boring site. It is a well kept home that is about 120 years old, with nothing inside that is worth a lot anybody's time.

We just did a tour of the house. It is a beautiful old house with wood pine walls. The history of the area and the Seminole Indians was great to here. This is definitely worth a visit.

With all the glitz, sun and glamour of Fort Lauderdale, it is easy to forget the town,s origins . Bringing yourself down to earth is the Stranahan House, nestled right in the midst of the hustle and bustle. Stepping into this s structure takes you back around 100 years to a simpler and quieter time. The furnishings and ambience are... More

It was such an enjoyable tour of the historic Stranahan House in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This is certainly old Florida history at it's best.
