We have been through the port in the past so this was not our first time but it certainly was the best. The embarkation through the Princess terminal was exceptionally quick with all our luggage taken care of by a very nice man who assured...More
Cruise ship docked here and all very well apart form the US computer immigration system went down. Bit of a walk to Walgreens to get some stuff - go out of the port, turn right and walk for about 500 yards and Walgreens is on...More
This has to be one of the speediest boarding we have ever done in around 12 cruises. Even though I had not received certain passes (maybe lost in email between US and Australia??) the customer service ground person was wonderful, checked off our names, passports...More

I would think you would be pushing it. If you don't need help getting bags off the ship and you use the Royal Caribbean phone app you could do it. With the phone app we checked out the previous night. Woke up early, at breakfast when they opened, got something to eat, and then headed directly off the ship with little more than a pause to scan our phones for customs and RC. I'll assume you have nothing to declare, we didn't and that is probably the difference in getting out quickly. Hit the doors to outside got a cab. I wouldn't wait for an uber. Cab to airport isn't a long ride and fairly inexpensive, I can't imagine price difference is significant. I'm sure uber is cheaper, but you have to wait for uber to get to you and find you and you find them. With the cab, you check-in, load your bags get in and you are gone. I have to believe much quicker than using uber. That is a decision you have to weigh, but when time is of the essence paying a little more to move out more quickly seems like a good trade-off. I will say it could be tough, but if you beat the crowd and get off as soon as they let you, I don't think you will have a problem. Airport isn't far from the cruise terminal. Assuming you do what we did, it will be very close to make 10:15, depends on your carrier, and, more importantly, how fast TSA wants to do their job the morning you leave. TSA may be your biggest hurdle even though Ft. Lauderdale is a small airport you never know. Good luck. A lot of words I know, sorry about that. Hope this helps.

Can't say for less expensive parking nearby since we didn't use it. We parked right next to the ship and walked about 100 yards to the cruise line terminal doors. Cost may be more, but the comfort of being nearby when going to and coming from the ship, for me, was worth the extra cost.

Yes, and for all those trying to determine about the shuttle buses, avoid them. The cost of taking a taxi was less than the cost of approximately 2.5 riders. There were three in our party the first time we cruised from Port Everglades. With the shuttle buses the cost was more for three of us, but the time waiting until the shuttle service bus is full isn't worth the wait. The ride from the airport to the hotel near the cruise ships was short. We asked the driver if he would be able to take us to the port and he agreed to meet us. We were ready, for what we thought was fairly early, but all the shuttle bus riders were already in the lobby waiting for the bus. We left a short time later and saw the passengers taking the shuttle come to the port drop off about a half hour later. When we left we went past the shuttle bus services and had a cab hailed for the three of us. We were gone in minutes while shuttle bus travelers were waiting for the bus to be filled, then loaded. Once again, bypass the shuttles, take a cab or uber. I like uber,so it is probably a little cheaper, but can't say for the wait. Cabs have a waiting area next to the gate. I would think uber has to get in line to come in and find you. So, if you have an early flight, take the cab, it will probably be faster and a little more expensive, but worth it when you need to get to the airport. We flew Southwest in and out. When we left, we got there early, and checked to see if Southwest would get us on an earlier flight. They did and it didn't cost anything extra. I hope this long winded answer helps.
