Cinema Paradiso focuses on Art cinema. We went there to see Hitchcock/Truffaut. The theater is a former church build and offers moviegoers stadium seating with comfortable seats. The small lobby also has a decent snack bar that offers, among other things, beer and wine and clean restrooms. If one goes there for the evening shows, one can park in the... More

It's that time of year for the FLIFF (Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival), and this theater is one of its venues. The festival started yesterday. This evening my wife and I were in the audience here to see "Tweeb," a film in Arabic with English subtitles, set in 1915 in the desert somewhere in either North Africa or the Middle... More

Mini film fests are in progress now, prior to the 30th FLIFF Anniversary Celebration, Nov 6-22. Many celebrities, parties, films from all over the world, elegant galas, and a yacht cruise are just... Only by chance did we attend an Argentine series of shorts called "Wild Tales". Theater is small but decent size screen and very comfortable seats. Have visited Ft Lauderdale for many years and this was the first time we "found" this place. Minutes from downtown.

This theater will show films that you cannot see elsewhere. the seats are the best in the city. they do premieres and other special events. If you are getting ready for the Oscars, they do great short parties and run all day long showings of animated to foreign films. They also run Rocky Horror Picture Show! great place for friends... Great movie selections. Small refreshment stand serves snacks and beer. Seats are comfortable and arranged on an incline for good views.

The two employees (and the cat!) were nice and made me feel welcome. I would recommend this place anytime for a date or a family evening.

How cool and OLD CHURCH (ugh!) TRANSFORMED into a theater between the high-rises! Go. Support the local film makers!
