This was the 'road' for the local natives and the settling northerners. In more current times, my parents actually lived aboard their Chris Craft right beside the Stranahan House.

We took the water taxi which covers a lot of the New River. Lots of expensive yachts along the way as well as convenient restaurant stops

Since our Riverside Hotel room overlooked the river, and the docks for the varied water rides, we chose one for an interesting trip from the river to the Intercoastal Waterway. What an interesting afternoon!

The new River runs thru downtown with various restaurants available. A good way to see it is by taking the water taxi.

Wonderful walking experience along the Riverwalk where yachts were docked and investments had been made on park areas. Many folks walked dogs and jogged in this area along the river. We took an enjoyable river boat tour to learn more about the mansions and history of the area.

Incredible sights to see here. The homes and surrounding architecture are beautiful. It is best seen by boat. I recommend the new water shuttle.

The north side is where you can walk, around Andrews to the Broward Center. Benches, winding path, shade trees, and a gazebo are features. You might see the Jungle Queen.

Rent kayaks and see the gorgeous houses up close!! And take the pink boat for the tour....not the yellow!!! We initially took the yellow and they were disappointing...

This waterway encapsulates all the wonders of Fort Lauderdale. If visiting I highly recommend taking a trip on the Water Taxi that will cruise the New River providing terrific views of Fort Lauderdale life!
