Visit Old Florida, where things are done naturally.San Carlos Bay - Bunche Beach Preserve is a 718 acre beach and mangrove forest preserve with a variety of recreational opportunities to enjoy including: Bird Watching, Canoe/Kayak Launch, Canoeing/Kayaking, Fishing, Hiking (Boardwalk), Nature Study/Photography, Picnic Area, Swimming and Sun Bathing.Step back in time visiting San Carlos Bay- Bunche Beach Preserve, one of the few natural beaches framed with native vegetation and mangrove tunnels to explore by kayak or canoe. In 2010, public beach facilities were completed & opened with ADA parking, restrooms, fishing piers, kayak ramp, picnic tables, and a small boardwalk overlooking Rock Creek. On the white sandy beach, there is an ADA mobie mat that leads to an ADA picnic table. Bunche Beach is not a barrier island beach. It is narrow compared to the beaches on Sanibel and Fort Myers beach. This adds to its unique charm. This Beach is never crowded and easily accessible with no traffic concerns. Kayak and SUP rentals are available through the on site vendor, Kayak Excursions, which also sells bottled water and assorted sundries at the Activities center located just behind the beach.Enjoy a quiet day by the bay.

Sandy beach along the bay. Water is very shallow, no waves, generally warmer than the gulf beaches. Parking can be a pain if you don't get there early, before 11.otherwise you park along nc the road or in the parking lot, but must pay. You...More

Certainly easy to get to off of Summerlin Road. Parking can get pretty crowded on nice summer days. Beach is clean and relatively uncrowded. Nice place to spend the day. Nearby there is a kayak rental service that lets you paddle through the pretty and...More

We came about Bunche Beach by accident. Our lodging was a mile down the road so we decided to explore and hopefully catch a sunset. It was low tide so we were able to walk out an estimated 1/8-1/4 mile in knee deep water. There...More

Getting tired of the drive over to Ft Myers beach. Try out this beach. All it's lacking is bathrooms and restaurants. Nice sandy spots and a long beach to walk on

A very back to nature beach. Low tide was fun. Beach is not groomed as beaches with hotels/restaurants ( Bunche has none). Great elking. I did not swim but others report ok swimming. Easy to get to i.e. on mainland do no causeway trafficked

Parking is very limited. Be sure to wear shoes as there is a lot of debris and it is not a real sandy beach, however you can walk out into the water which was only ankle high when I was there.
