The Railroad Museum of South Florida,Inc operates the Lakes Park and Gulf Railroad and Railroad Museum in Lakes Regional Park in south Ft Myers Florida. Lakes Regional Park is a Approx 300 Acres in size, and is part of the Lee County Parks and Recreation Dept of Lee County Florida. The property was originally an old rock quarry which has been reclaimed by Mother Nature and transformed into a waterfront wonderland for all of Florida's natural beauty! The Lakes Park and Gulf Railroad operates daily train rides along a 1 1/2 mile track which meanders around and between the many lakes, passing small villages and thru a tunnel. The Lakes Park Enrichment Foundation was created to monitor the over all future of the park.

My son loved the train ride and the trains in the museum (as did I). He was not happy when it was time to leave. This is a MUST for folks with kids who like trains.

We have been to the museum a few times and enjoyed it every time. My granddaughters had a blast on the train ride.

Nice walking trails. The train ride is a must for adults and kids. Bike rentals, picnic areas,train Museum, a food area and more .If you go on the walking trail look for the Tree that has a "Face"

Went on their train ride. Low budget recreations of old Ft. Meyers town was ok and innovative. Nice park it is set in as well.

The train ride is very fun for kids of all ages and adults!!! The museum is very interesting and interactive. All the employees are very nice. It is very beautiful too!!

The miniature train ride for $5 also gives admission to the Railroad museum. The ride takes you through a portion of Lake Park, over a bridge, through a tunnel and passes by small village scenes. Children under 6 ride free with an adult. Ride is about 1 1/2 miles and takes about 20 minutes. The museum is small but has... More

There are several attraction not to miss First and a most do is the 1/8 scale garden railway that you actually ride on through model towns of southwest Florida from the 1950s. The museum itself consists of a locomotive simulator which allows you to actually take the controls of one of these giants and several model layout which go all... More

The Railroad Museum of South Florida (RRMSF) is located inside the Lee County's Lakes Park. The museum is open 7 days a week. Please check for Lakes Park for the hours of operation.
