Every day is different. Every time of day is different. Every season is different. This venue is not to be missed. You should experience some wildlife with every visit. It is a peaceful, lovely escape into nature on a boardwalk that is accessible to everyone! Plan on spending time enjoying nature. Bring your binoculars!

A very relaxing walk along the boardwalk with lots to see. What wildlife you see depends on the time of year and the time of day. You can spend as much time as you like, I recommend bringing a picnic lunch!

We love this preserve. We have been to many, and they are all a nice walk, but this one is the only one that you actually see animals! We have even seen wild pigs on several visits! Lots of birds & turtle as well.

We found out about this place from a local camper. It turned out to be an excellent place for a pleasant walk on a boardwalk through shady forest. There is water in some areas so the opportunities to see turtles and wading birds are good. The interpretive plaques are excellent and of a design I have never seen anywhere else,... More

Such a beautiful and relaxing walk through this Park. The water level of the swamp is very low, indicative of the dry season. We saw blue herons, egrets, turtles, wild pigs, a couple of alligators and wood peckers. I am grateful for the opportunity to visit.

We went for the morning as it was cool out. Our kids LOVED it!!!! We saw 3 alligators, multiple different birds and other wildlife. It was a GREAT way to burn time and no one was bored!! Two BIG thumbs up! (It reminded us of a mini version of Corkscrew Sanctuary in Naples, at least to this family ;) !!).

We did this on a whim our last day of vacation - we were just trying to kill some time before going swimming. This turned out to be a highlight of the week right up there with Sanibel, Captiva, etc. Our kids are 6 and 8, so typically hit or miss on things like this. The elevated walkway was fun... More

We visited this nature preserve and saw many different bird species and several alligators. We also witnessed two birds catch and eat fish. I hit with our 15 year old son. Great shaded 1.2 mile walk and you only pay for parking. They do have a guided tour at 9:30. We missed that, but there were several great volunteers to... More

Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve is a must see in Fort Myers. You just never know what you will see. There are always birds and turtles but surprises include alligators, snakes, feral swine, possibly a panther and much more. The boardwalk helps keep you above where most of the wildlife can be found and is very walkable with canopies of... More
