Nice shaded trails through mangrove area. About 1.5 miles of trail , some boardwalk. Easy to get to but only 3 parking spaces. Free!

Kind of a windy day for kayaking or sitting on the beach so we went over to Matanzas Pass Preserve to check it out. Free parking and admission made our day. Not much to see if you are not familiar with the local floral or fauna. We strolled along the dirt paths on the old sand dunes and were happy... More

Had lunch and dinner here during our visit to Ft. Myers Beach. Great view of the inlet, boats, and the bridge to the beach. Wait staff seemed to be a little overwhelmed or under trained during both visits.

We were lucky to go on a Saturday when the historical society was presenting a guided tour called "Footprints In Time" and believe me it was really great!! On Sat. and Wednesday the historic cottage is open from 10:00 to noon. The trail is open from dawn to dusk and is ADA accessible. The preserve is lovely and if you... More

It is a little JEWEL in the heart of Fort Myers Beach. The trails are well marked and maintained. The view on the back bay is beautiful and relaxing. There are guided tours you can take and also an information office that is open a couple of mornings a week that you can learn about the history of Fort Myers... More

Took a nice walk for about a half hour to 45 minutes in the Preserve. Lots of birds chirping, but we couldn't easily find them. The walk along the path provided leads to the water. Interesting root systems around the base of the trees there - probably because it is a tidally influenced area and what we were seeing was... More

We stopped in and took a picture of the map and started walking. About half way through there were water holes and we had to turn around..

Just off Estero Bl. In Ft. Myers Beach is a hidden jewel (Matanzas Pass Preserve). There are 2 interconnected paths totaling just under 2 miles. They wind through the mangroves and 1 leads to a GR8 view of Estero bay. The pass is free.
