Due to currents, not a great place to swim but certainly wading is fine. Read that this was the best place to shell but didn't find any. Very uncrowded and pleasant.

We recently spent a few days playing with our dogs at this beach! I WANT one of these at home! Our dogs love to swim and we were able to swim with them. The water is shallow quite aways out. The dogs ran in and...More

A great place to let your dog enjoy the beach. Everyone was respectful and the dogs really enjoyed themselves.

I wouldn't call it a beach, but a bayou and tide pool. It's near the inlet so boats can also park nearby creating a greater crowd than the parking lot. You aren't near on the gulf here so no waves. You should also go at...More

Our dog has a tendency to bolt, which makes me nervous to let her off leash at dog beaches that are to close to traffic. The surrounding mangroves and one-way path to this beach put me at ease about releasing our Cookie to run wild...More

Great place to take a dog that likes water. The place is very pretty for everyone. There is even a dog shower to rinse the sand off after romping on the beach.

Nothing like the open dog beach up in Venice, but it's secluded and deep in nature. Depending on the tide, you might have to wade ankle to knee deep water, but the dog are is spread out, quite and a great place for the dogs...More

It's not so well advertised from the road, so it's easy to miss. Once you've parked it can be a bit daunting to get to the actual beach part. I had to wade through some very silty (slippery) areas holding my things above my waste....More

We rented a house on Ft Myers beach.... With a pool... Cheaper than a hotel and yard for 2 labs was great... Vacation rental by owner... " pet friendly"... Reserved a few weeks in advance. Great dog beach!!! Good luck.
