You pay $4 to park but the museum is free and a great place to take the family, including kids. The Butterfly Museum is an $11 add on but if the weather is cold they don’t fly around so we didn’t go to that.

Play area for kids was most fun for our family, butterflies were nice, but not at cost charged per person. Staff seemed to like their jobs.

This is a small but excellent museum just off Archer Road in Gainesville. The exhibits are well done, cronichaling the history of the Florida peninsula. A world-class butterfly research center and exhibit is on-site but has an admission charge.

Hi beebop2017, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm glad you enjoyed the Calusa leader's hut with King Carlos in the South Florida People & Environments permanent exhibit. That's definitely an often-mentioned visitor favorite. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Paul Ramey
