The Hippodrome State Theatre is the architectural centerpiece of Gainesville's Historic downtown and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The main stage theatre features the work of award-winning thespians and presents some of the best theatre in the country. The Hippodrome also houses a visual arts gallery, a cinema featuring first run artistic and foreign films, and a full service bar.

I'm always delighted with the quality of the productions at this theater. Most recently the cast tackled Hamlet. It was riveting. I've seen Shakespeare productions in London, New York, and Washington, DC, this rivaled some of the best.

We always enjoy coming here . Not a bad seat in the house. Shows are always enjoyable . Historic building is amazing . Take the very old elevator.

I absolutely LOVE the HIPP. We've been several times and it is always a fantastic experience. We've been as couples, friends, and as a family! Beautiful venue and excellent talent is brought in for shows!

You can rent basement room here for any occasion . It was very nice , location is quaint town and handicap accessible . Recommend highly .
