The Hobe Sound Nature Center is a private, non-profit organization, dedicated to environmental awareness and education. The Center is a cooperating association with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and located at the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge. The Center is home to over twenty different species of animals as well having many other interactive displays. One of our unique features is that our resident animals are able to be taken out and be touched by children. The Nature Center offers both on and off-site native wildlife presentations and field experiences to the local community. We host many events throughout the year including weekend special events, seasonal lecture series, and a summer nature camp for students ages 6 to 12. A highly popular event is our sea turtle walk program, held from the end of May through mid July.

We actually got to touch a baby Alligator! Exhibit has snakes, spiders, alligators, turtles, and more. It is very small, but it is also free! Candi was super nice and very informative. Thank you for adding to an already great day!

This is a small ---in fact very small National Park. Once you get there however you find out how unique it is and because of that its loss would cause great damage to many species. When you walk in the door the first thing you...More

Nice little exhibit and packed with tons of information, well worth the effort to find a parking spot and it's free!

The center is interesting and informative. Friendly staff. You can walk on several different trails. The walk is probably better on cooler days.

A great little gem and you can park and hike 4-5 trails down to the beach for ZERO $... The trail to the south (behind the building) called the Scrub Trail is GREAT, but then again, they all are, but this one is often overlooked......More

This nature center is perfect for small children. There is a short sandy trail to follow, which is also a good length for ittle ones. We thought the beach was interesting with a thick sugar sand. The staff at the nature center was EXTREMELY helpful...More
