We visited here during the birds feeding time, which was so interesting. The volunteers explain how/why the birds are in there, and what they do to rehabilitate them. There is a vet on site. The birds are separated into "types" then ages or disabilities. Worth seeing!

We stopped here not quite sure of what we would find. It's a small place crammed in between stores, etc. and easy to miss. But don't miss it! They take care of and rehabilitate all sorts of birds, including not just seabirds but blue jays, owls and hawks. The majority of their "clients" are pelicans, herons and egrets. The facility... Our visit was moving and inspiring, even though we've been to many bird and animal rescue places before. We visited whilst on vacation from the UK, staying at Clearwater Beach. Plenty of room for parking and I believe they have an overflow parking lot. You could also reach by trolley bus or via the beach. These guys do a great... More

The dedicated staff perform their utmost to assure that injured birds are nursed back to health. The Sanctuary struggles with adequate funding, though somehow manage to perform Samaritan acts for rescued birds. Great visit for "kids" of all ages!

Stayed just down from the sanctuary but never visited until this year. It is interesting to see all of the birds and how they are taken care of.

Nice little place along the beach that rescues birds that get injured or are sick. Sanctuary is free, although they do appreciate donations. There was lots of info on all the native birds they've taken care of; nice to see people able to help them!

It was great seeing the birds and knowing they were being rehabilitated! And the ones who couldn't be had a home for life. Being there for feeding time was great.

What a great way to be sure the kids get an education on seabirds and the dangers they face from swallowing hooks and getting tangled in nets. Lots to see. Leave a donation if you can!

This is by far the best attraction in the area. The love and dedication of all the volunteers is amazing. You can get up close with a wide variety of birds. Kids and adults will have a great time. And best of all, it's free. But please make a donation for all the care it takes to care for these... More
