Local history and some really interesting facts of this area of Florida. They also have very nice music venues during the year with local professional artists.

Recognizable from Elvis' movie, Follow that Dream, the courthouse is often used now for concerts and other special occasions. Downstairs a tour of the County history is updated periodically. A typically small town center, it is surrounded by various restaurants and the Valerie Theater.

Nice review of Inverness. Elvis also film a court scene in the movie Follow that Dream. Free admission and they also often display local astisans handiwork.

Parking for this museum is found in a free municipal lot across the street. It is a short walk from the rail trail. The exhibits were interesting about Citrus County history with an overview from prehistoric thru modern times. A display was included pertaining to clothing from the 1920s-1930s that was interesting. Upstairs is a display pertaining to Elvis Presley.... More

A great place to visit & take some friends. The rooms are divided into different time periods. There were items at the museum that I had no clue of what it was or where it came from. If you are an Elvis Presley fan this is a must to see. The museum was an old courthouse in the center of... More

Very interesting , well preserved 100 plus y/o Courthouse building in the center of Main st. Many archived pieces of history of Inverness and the surrounding area...and HEY Elvis was here too. Filmed part of the movie (Follow that Dream) right here in this building

Although we live here for almost two years now we recently had a chance to visit this museum. It was very well done and so informative without being boring. The staff was more than helpful and very well versed on the history of the town of Inverness. Would recommend highly.
