We visited Ft Zachary beach upon the recommendation of a Key West local. Wow...its just breathtaking. The water was blue and green and much deeper than on the Atlantic side of the island. There are great spots to picnic and get out of the sun,...More

I did not actually take a tour of the fort. My fiancé and I just went to the beach. I agree with the other reviews- bring water shoes. The sand is made up of a lot of rocks and little shells so isn't particularly pleasant...More

We went here based on a blog review and were not disappointed. We picked up Subway and had a picnic before we spent a few hours in the water. Great for swimming, hanging out and snorkeling. Absolutely beautiful view and not crowded!

Don't go to the "beach" area expecting a typical florida beach. It was surrounded by pine trees and very rocky! We rented two chairs for $30 and and spent another $36 for two snorkels and masks. I expected the water to be more clear but...More

Fort is cool. Nice tours provided at noon or do the self tour. Really love the beach access, though. Picnic tables for picnicking and there as is a cool snack bar and fresh water showers - along with nice bathroom facilities- available. Hint: bring water...More

We were unsure about this stop given the mixed reviews.... It's absolutely a fantastic beach and worth an afternoon of gorgeous swimming and sunning!

Rocky beach but pleasant place to spend part of the day. Surprisingly wide selection of options at the cafe on-site, which takes credit cards

We visited the Fort and the beach on our first day. Rode our bikes there. Was cool to see and the beach was a great treat. It is somewhat small and rocky but water shoes were a big help. They rent nice lounge chairs and...More

Yes, you can see fish, but not as many as on the snorkeling tours. But for the inexpensive price, there are a good number of fish to be seen.

Sorry, can't help you, but I too enjoyed those lovely trees at Fort Zachery. I'm hoping that lots of places in the Keys come through with out great harm.
