We were there on windy day so the snorkeling and beach was disappointing. The beach is rocky, so water shoes or fin socks are recommended. The picnic tables under the australian pines are a great picnic location. The guided tour of the fort was outstanding and very informative. A great bargain at $9.50 for a car load of seven (counting... More

We took bikes to go to the beach....please bring water shoes!!!! It is super rocky and sharp shells everywhere even in the water. The fort was a self guided tour, much of it was blockd off because its so decrepit. Much of the fort was painted black wich takes away from how beautiful it was! Even though the fort saw... More

This is the go to beach in Key West. There is a Fort, picnic areas, beach rentals, and lots of space to swim. There are also several great locations to snorkel. I would definitely recommend going here.

This is one of the better beaches in KW - but bring your water shoes because it has lots of coral rocks but there is enough sand to find a spot to spread your towel or blanket. The water is warm and there are lots of chunks of coral you can collect. You can also go over to the fort... More

Lovely, good picnic facilities, awesome fort well restored and interesting, and a great beach all in the same place. The huge cruise ships come in at the end of the beach so up close that its a thrill to see them, many weddings are preformed here also to add to the uniqueness . The sun sets just over the jetty... We did not visit the beach, but wanted to visit the fort. It was interesting. It had great views of the ocean and a terrific history. It was a great value and would like to go back and take my son (also a huge history buff).

We came here on the recommendation of a local who preferred the moving current vice the somewhat static beaches in other places. It was quiet and a great family beach. It is rocky here but not so rocky that you cannot enjoy it. There were plenty of places to cook out and picnic. We enjoyed swimming to some rocky outcrops... More

The beach is very stoney and water shoes are recommended. The area of beach with just sand to lay your towel is very narrow - if busy forget finding a spot. The restaurant on grounds is fine and the water rocky again but warm ( 86 degrees). I'm glad we went but would not look to return unless we had... More

We went mainly for the beach. Other beaches in Key West were not as clean as we would have liked. So thought this one would be better, especially since you have to pay. The beach has much rock and shell, to the point where it will hurt your feet. Even quite a ways in, one person even cut their foot... More

This is our beach on Key West. There is a small entrance fee if you walk there, more if you drive. You walk through a stand of Pine Trees out onto the beach area. It is not a very sandy beach these are coral islands so you will need water shoes. You can lounge in shade of the trees or... More
