Biked from Duval St into the park, bike racks available. Beautiful beach and sunset views! The beach is a little rocky so you'll have to be careful if you're not wearing shoes.

The beach at this park is a bit hidden from most of the other public beaches. It's a nice secret location to know if you want to spend the day snorkeling or simply relaxing on the sandy beach.

The September hurricane destroyed hundreds of trees, but if you have never been to Ft. Zach you wouldn't know that. Another big change to Ft. Zach is the sand on the beach. I could see and was told that the old "really rocky" brownish sand...More

We really enjoyed laying on the beach, taking pictures and swimming at Fort Zachary Taylor. There's even bathrooms and a little place to eat and a lot of parking.

Love this civil war vintage fort! It's been here more than 150 years, and steeped in history, even though it never fired a shot in anger. The Union manned the fort at the beginning of the Civil War and kept it throughout. Good guided tour....More

If you want a perfect view of the KW sunset without all the crowds and chaos of Mallory Square, go to the Fort. Entry fee is about $5 which is much less than parking in downtown KW. Bring your dogs and a picnic supper. Awesome!

We got there with our bicycles. There is a good amount of shade/picnic tables or you could pay and get a lounge chair/umbrella for $$. Clean fun place to go in for a dip. It is rocky - so beach shoes make it pleasant. Clean...More

Fort Zachary Taylor beach and part of the park experienced a tremendous amount of damage from Irma. The old pine trees suffered and the beach got washed away. If you go there today you will see a remarkable job that was done in restoring the...More

Sorry, can't help you, but I too enjoyed those lovely trees at Fort Zachery. I'm hoping that lots of places in the Keys come through with out great harm.

Yes lots of parking, but really filled up quickly on the Saturday we were there. A different perspective on the actual fort - you need to take a few minutes to explore the fort. Worth the time. Have fun!
