This is a nice, old house, and its renovation was one of the first in Key West, leading to renovation of other properties, I believe. However, be advised that Audubon, the artist, had basically nothing to do with this house. Supposedly, he used a branch...More

Well, it's not really the Audubon family House, but John Audubon did visit here, may well have used the house as a base for bird discovery in the keys. Many Audubon paintings are displayed, it is a worthwhile tour. I'm glad we went.

My two teenage sons and I took this tour in order to seek out the rumored ghost that is said to lurk there. It is also said that in one of the rooms where children died you feel sadness and depression upon entering. There is...More

The home and grounds are beautiful. The docent who began the tour was very knowledgeable and did a great job. I loved the old photos and artifacts throughout the house. The Audubon prints were amazing to see. The gift shop afterwards is charming.

This is typical Key West architecture and it is actually quite well preserved. I'm not really an Audubon fan but I did find the place very interesting. The gardens are very tropical which for a someone from "up north" is very worthwhile seeing and give...More

This house alone is worth visiting for its part in Key West history but the added Audubon history makes it even more worthwhile. A lovely gentleman gave us a nice introduction and then we made our own way around the house and gardens, giving us...More

The work Audubon did was simply amazing given the time effort involved. Would have been hard to do with a camera, a luxury he did not have. The detail and expertise involved are incredible. The house, not his by the way, was mildly interesting. A...More
