The Key West Cemetery is interesting to walk through -- some of the graves are sooo old and the burial sites are much different than what we see in the Midwest with them being above ground and some stacked upon each other. I especially loved the tombstone we found that says "I told you I was sick". Lol!

It worth going to have a look around, it's very interesting it's also peaceful and nice to get away from the busyness. The ground can be a little uneven so needs to be taken into consideration. You also have to Remember others go there to pay respect to their loved ones, if you have the time go and have a... More

I enjoy old cemeteries because of their unique display of culture and history. If you're looking for the "I told you I was sick!" headstone, head to the Jewish corner of the cemetery. The "sick" headstone is to the left. Careful of the reds if you step on the grass. Their bites are painful and itchy.

A bittersweet walk down memory lane. Visit my dad and grandfather each time I am there, as well as those of friends. There is so much wonderful history in the cemetary.

After hearing about all the strange inscriptions on the tombstones we expected more. The place is pretty run down even for a cemetery and there are only very few of those funny stones to be found. Don't waste your time trying to find them.

We booked a tour with a local guide from the Historic Florida Keys Foundation (only on Tues and Thurs -tel. 292 6718). Our guide made our tour very interesting and we got to hear about the history of Key West and some of the people buried there.

It was not nearly as interesting or nice as the ones in Louisiana, New Orleans are the most interesting and diverse. This was not very big either, located in the middle of a residential area which looked more like Frat houses.

We like to wonder cemetery's from time to time. We find them fascinating and interesting. This one is cool to me because people are buried in tombs above ground. I've only seen in the ground cemetery's plots before coming here. There are a few funny head stones here. Some are very old 1700's-1800's. Just to let you know there are... More

A must see. Short walk from Duval. Gravel road, wear proper walking attire. It's not large but plenty to see.
