A very unusual cemetery - several graves have humorous epitaphs (e.g., "I told you I was sick").

A great place to take a walk or ride your bike. Very interesting to look at all the different headstones and to look for possible relatives.

Found this unique little cemetery while exploring, and found the Memorial to the USS Maine was there. Noticed one of the names could be a long lost relative to my husband. Have found out since there is an online map you can print before you...More

We enjoyed wandering around the cemetery, but we needed a map to find the best markers to visit and no such map was available. (There's one online, but it lists notable people, not the humorous markers we wanted to see.) The cemetery apparently offers tours,...More

Walking back from Duval Street to our Hotel, we 'accidentally' walked by the Cemetery. It was evening with dark coming on, so we didn't actually tour the Cemetery (may should have, huh?!). It was amazing. Due to the water table and the bedrock, many (if...More

With some time to kill one afternoon during our visit, my wife and I walked to the cemetery to look at some of the notable headstone inscriptions (like ,"I'm just resting my eyes"). It was a fun detour and a break from all the eating...More

Very interesting place to visit, although I found the free map to be very important. Without it I would not have been able to distinguish major historical figures from the average person. Most of the plots look the same with the exception of a few...More

Walking through the cemetary is a great place to reflect. You can tell that it is very old. Some of the older graves have taken a beating over the years but seeing how families had their plots is quite the sight.

It is another part of history and we are into that Just not something we want to see. Not kept up much but few ever are.

Although we just walked around the Cemetery, the grounds were beautiful. Many of the "burial" sites are actually above-ground vaults, so the architecture and character of the vaults is incredible. It's definitely well worth visiting.
