The Key West Cemetery is a 19 acre cemetery that is located in the Old Town section on the highest natural piece of elevated land. It had actually been founded in 1847 when the previous cemetery had been destroyed by a hurricane. Estimates are that...More

One of the gravestone gems! Walked through here several times on several different occasions. Just one of the fun free things to do in Key West.

There are a lot of above ground graves here, probably more than most cemeteries. There are also a number of shelters built over graves which is something we had not seen before. We like riding our bikes to and thru the cemetery. It is not...More

My father is buried here - always a memorable visit. Small roads to drive on, almost better to walk thru.

Son lives across street, was visiting him and while waiting for him decided to poke around, some very unique head stones, men, women, children all buried there, families and all tell a different story. If you visit it, please respect those "living" there/

This cemetery is so large I could not find the grave I was looking for. If you want to spot iguanas, just walk in there. They are EVERYWHERE.

My husband and I came across the cemetery when we were going around in a rented golf cart. It was interesting to see, and so different than the cemeteries we have in the midwest. Definitely worth a visit.
