It's free to get in but please leave a donation. It's a small but a beautiful serene place built in an old fort that was never finished. The fort was taken over by the garden club in the 50's. It's worth an hour or so of your time.

This is a nice garden tucked away from everything and near the ocean. It has some history and can be done quickly and doesn't take a long time.

Was walking by on the beach and stumbled across this hidden gem. Ran by volunteers (garden club). They only ask for a donation as you depart. Look at all the shared photos and just go

This is an old fort that the garden club of key west has turned into a beautiful botanical garden area. We only stopped because the trolley driver mentioned it and we were pleasantly surprised. We spent about an hour just walking around and viewing all the plants, trees, flowers. And it was free! They do accept donations.

The garden here is one of the most well-kept areas on the entire island. The Key West Garden Club has done such n amazing job maintaining the grounds. It is a free stop (donations accepted) that is such a breath of fresh air. Bring a sack lunch and decompress in the midst of a lush garden and feel the stress... More

We loved wandering through the excellently curated Garden Club and tower. I'd been wandering around Key West for days wondering what all the palm trees were and here was an opportunity to learn about the palms and other local vegetation, and to do so from beautifully signed examples on this magical self-guided garden tour, as well as from the informative... Cool place to meander through and take a gander at all the sublime vegetation. In case you're a history buff, it's important this is the remaining parts of a Civil War period fortification, and the volunteers can give a little data on the foundation too. They had a little plant deal going on while we were there with exceptionally sensible... More

Very cool place we stumbled into on the way to Higgs Beach. I had seen reviews so when I saw the sign, I knew I wanted to stop. The most prominent feature is a huge banyan (I think?) tree in the front area that has grown over a walkway arch. Gives the place a really whimsical feel & is a... More

Glad you enjoyed our tropical gardens. Double strollers and wheelchairs have access and only need to see the receptionist to have the back gate unlocked for entrance. Our receptionists are exceptional and have interesting information about the fort and the garden, so don't miss talking with them. More

What a neat garden in a historic place. Came on a misty morning and enjoyed the beautiful plants and setting. What was once a civil war fort is now run by the garden club. Neat local and exotic plants, don't miss the huge strangler fig! Donations are asked for after the tour.

You'll learn a lot of facts about Key West which you never imagined, unless you are a historian. Many old artifacts and reading posters,
