The Eco-Discovery Center features more than 6,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, which interpret the resources and management efforts of Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, two national parks, and four national wildlife refuges. Check out the exhibit on Aquarius, the world's only underwater ocean laboratory, the Living Reef exhibit, which includes a 2,500-gallon reef tank with living corals and tropical fish, the live Reef Cam, and other displays that highlight the coral reef environment. The Center is located in NOAA’s Dr. Nancy Foster Florida Keys Environmental Complex on the Truman Annex waterfront in Key West. Admission is always free (and so is parking), so be sure to stop by for a visit!

A well thought out group of exhibits that explain the diverse environment of the Florida Keys. Entertaining and educational at the same time. A good place to learn about the natural environment that surrounds the commercial entertainment of Florida and the Keys. A wonderful place to spend quality time with the next generation! Dont miss the Mote Marine Centers aquariums... More

You want to get out of the sun and heat for an hour, take the kids to this hidden gem. The staff, or at least the nice young man who allowed our boys to ask a hundred and one questions, was awesome answering every question, sometimes twice. So knowledgeable and patient. I wish I had got his name, brunette cutie... More

It may not look like much on the outside. Just a big rectangular building by the water before you head into Fort Zach. I have lived in the Keys for 14 Years and this is the first time I have viewed their exhibits. Don't miss the movie they show. I saw all this before going to snorkel and the movie... More

The discovery center was a nice air conditioned break. Good educational exhibits, a couple of nice aquariums, and a nice gift shop. Bought two really cute board books for our 18 mo daughter.

It seems a lot of people don't know where this is. I would make the effort to find it. A great nature educational experience plus it is free with free parking. Don't find that in Key West much anymore.

Interesting place with lots of unique exhibits. Nice section on the coral that protects the Keys and how we all can help it survive. Another section on the birds that pass through and some that live in the keys.

Excellent displays of all the coastal terrains and wildlife. Film is very good. Helped us to be able to spot nesting sites of sea turtles. Nice aquariums. Clean, cool, and free! Parking is free too. This should definitely be on your list if visiting with children.

Just big enough to be interesting for both my kids. We learned a lot and it got us out of the sun for the morning. Nice place to picnic outdoors too.

Good value (donation) and you get to learn a little about the eco system of the Keys. Glad we went, the day was awfully hot, it was a good thing to do on an unusually hot May day..
