Sure. There is a bit of history but this is a 15 minute stop to stretch your legs. It's slightly more interesting than the southern most point monument in Key West.

The monument was near our hotel so we walked over, but it's not worth stopping to se it. it's also right on the main highway so it's dangerous to access it.

Interesting history on the hurricane. Many lives were lost and this monument is well done and well preserved. Just takes a few minutes to read.

Not only is it a nice stop to stretch your legs and walk around, but a great place to reflect the lives lost in 1935. Wonderful and moving tribute knowing that 300 sets of remains are near you. I'm thankful that they decided to erect this monument for those lost. Please stop and take a look.

Nice monument overlooking a small, lush park. Dedicated to the lives lost in the 1935 hurricane. Peaceful, relaxing stop on the highway. Nice break from the long drive to Key West and worth a stop to read the history.

The monument is right next to the highway so its not a detour. Having spent several years in Florida and experiencing a few hurricanes I had already knew of the hurricane of '35 but I still enjoyed reading the information and walking the grounds, peaceful.

I had never heard of the hurricane this monument was erected for. Had no Idea that over 300 sets of cremated remains are entombed in the monument. Not just a photo op a lot of young men scarified themselves to save countless others

Have to actually go up to see the beauty and read the story--but it is a must do if you are in the area
