A short boat trip from Marathon key. Great views and a lot of Florida history from the guide. Buy tickets at the gift shop on Marathon Key, just north of the Seven Mile Bridge. Look for a red train car. The boat ride and tour are $12.00.

Tried to take the ferry out to Pigeon Key. The only staff person was very rude. Made me not even want to take the ferry.

Arrive early to the boat dock in Marathon and you may be lucky enough to start your trip up close to a manatee! The ride over and back is the best way to see the 7 mile bridge. We skipped the tour, snorkeled and spent about two hours on the island. We had a great time!

Learned some interesting "keys" history, enjoyed a nice ferry ride, and Pigeon Key is a beautiful spot! Worth the small admission price. Would be a nice family outing. Highly recommend it!

This is a restored encampment for people who worked on the Overseas Railroad. Henry Flagler spearheaded the extension of the Florida East Coast Railway to get people from the mainland to Key West. As you drive through the keys, you can still see the remnants of the structures. Pigeon Key offers some great exhibits of the life and culture of... More

If you want to know about the history of the railroad, this is where to learn about it! The boat ride to the island is an added enjoyment and Pigeon Key is a great place to get some memorable pictures.

My husband wanted to go on this, and I wasn't enthused, but it was really worthwhile! The boat crew that takes you out points out wildlife on the way. Our tour guide on the key, Reita, was wonderful. Such fascinating stories. I learned a lot of history. The waters around this small key are very pretty, also.

Because the old 7-Mile Bridge is closed for renovation for an expected 3-4 years, the only way to visit Pigeon Key is by taking the tour and accessing the Island by boat (a 15 minute boat ride). The tour lasts for approximately 2 hours (as of 2/2017 @ 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm) and is very informative. One will... More

We visited the pigeon key visitors center in an old railcar. Came to realize we could take a tour of Pigeon Key and learn more about the Flagler rail system. Our guide was Eric who is extremely knowledgeable. It was a quick but pleasant boat ride to the key and back. Highly recommend. Price was right too at $12 per... More
