The Turtle Hospital began as a motel with a sea turtle "aquarium" attraction. In 1986, it was transformed into a nonprofit medical facility dedicated to rehabbing and often releasing turtles that have fallen ill or been injured. The hospital, replete with ambulances, offers tours, during which the public can learn about the different species and the different reasons turtles may... More

They are truly an amazing group. Rescue, rehab and release. Sanctuary as a last resort (humane euthanasia where necessary). The facility is set up really well to take tourists through their working facility in a very efficient and educational manner. Well done.

We were traveling without our kids, but this is the kind of place that's great for kids & those w/o kids. A great story, inspiring work, and committed staff at this little nonprofit that rescues, rehabilitates and releases sea turtles. You can even "adopt" a sea turtle and get regular updates. Thinking about Xmas gifts...

This place really brings the disaster that people can have on animals. After visiting I found myself looking for trash on beaches and while diving to collect and properly dispose of. If just a 1000 people picked up one piece of trash that would be 1000 things that wouldn't end up injuring a turtle. I highly recommend visiting this center... More

My husband and I visited The Turtle Hospital and learned so much about turtles and the illnesses and injuries they are prone to. I was impressed with the facility and we are planning to sponsor a couple of the turtles that have to stay at the hospital permanently. I highly recommend it as an activity for anyone.

lot of money but worth every single cent. Helping the Turtles in a way like this is fantastic! With a tour of 90min you have value for your money. Ask also when they will release a turtle and where as when you are lucuky, as we were, you can witness the release of a healthy turtle.

Presentation at beginning is short and informative. Good setting inside with AC. Rules are firm regarding the tour. You should read them. Small gift shop. I think you could access with a wheelchair but i would phone before you plan. The tour of the facility is informative You interact when given a hand full of food to feed turtles. The... More
