This place is strictly an environmental studies center for the Osceola County School System. It also functions as wildlife habitat and observation post. You can go for walks on the boardwalk and take in the peace and quiet of nature while observing the wildlife. The place is only open on weekends for limited hours in the afternoons. It closes at... Only open on weekends, but well worth the trip. Great Boardwalk, and educational display of birds and wildlife available

For the nature buffs, this is a must see spot. Boardwalk was shorter than anticipated, but loved it all the same. We saw a good sized gator catching some rays during our walk. the information center is very cool with lots of animals on display. Suitable for all ages.

My daughter and I went for a stroll and found this hidden beauty. Some parts were closed due to floods from the rain but we walked the boardwalk taking pictures and watching the natives. Place is definitely not for someone who can not handle nature in it true form. Bring insect spray and hiking boots.

Although only open to the public on most weekends, this place is worth the visit. It has an indoor museum but the real adventure is the boardwalk that goes into the woods and eventually out to Reedy Creek Swamp. Spring and Fall are the best times to visit - more birds and not so warm.

Although this can only be accessed by the public when school is not in session (weekends and holidays), it is well worth the trip. There is an environmental study building with many local animal/bird specimens to view and learn about and a butterfly garden right at the entrance. Then there is the boardwalk that goes out into the woods, to... More

My family and I spent the day at the county fair in Kissimmee Florida. It is called the Osceola Fair and such a wonderful fair. This year is the 70th anniversary of the fair, This was our first time there and we will return again. Cost is $5,00, seniors and children $3.00 and parking is free. There is an abundance... More

Due to the very rainy period we visited in, the whole area around the boardwalk was flooded. This was never the case during our previous visits. Not 100 yards upon the boardwalk we spotted two small alligators basking on logs. Very nice. We also saw frogs and lots of lizards. From the viewpoint we could not make out large alligators,... I have been here more than once, It's really interesting for people from parts of the country or world that don't get to see swamps. My friends from Saudi Arabia said it felt like being in a movie. I'm pretty sure it's only open one weekend day per week for the public.

Went there again and and very good viewing of gators (small & large), turtles nad very large spiders.... Unfortunately my daughter Ellen got stung by a hairy object which later turned out to be a puss caterpilar, a venomous caterpillar species. The caterpillar has the appearance of a piece of fluffy cotton, but is the opposite.... But still, the center... More
