It took us about an hour or so to your the two story museum. Loved the Marylin Monroe gold displays and what people eat in other countries comparison display. Intresting and worth walking through and reading in its entirety. Did not care for the others as to me it was just rubish art my 7 year old nice can do.... More

This is a lovely small art museum. Although they always have specific exhibits our favorite part of our visit is the art of the local students. There is always an outstanding exhibit of student art. Also their museum shop is the best, bar none.

When we visited the Polk Museum, the main shows in the gallery were not especially interesting to us, so this meant we were not inclined to stay very long. This is not a criticism of the Polk Museum; it just happened that what they were showing was either of little interest to us, or we had seen better showings on... More

If you appreciate art, make sure to go to this art museum if you are in Lakeland. We really enjoyed the variety of artwork and the beautiful space to view it. It's convenient from downtown and just adjacent to the lovely public library. Even an hour or so is enough to see most, if not all, of the works on... More

I have been visiting this museum since it was housed in an old supermarket building. It is the place where I discovered Ansel Adams' photos, Rauschenberg's collage paintings and Calder's mobiles. As for size it's small considering the size of some of the exhibits they manage to install. Summer art programs for children are a plus too. I am proud... More

I had been wanting to visit this museum for a few years and we finally set aside an afternoon to do it. An hour or two is all you need and it is well worth your time. Hard to believe that it is also free! The variety of exhibits was very nice, pre-Colombian artifacts, paintings, a moon art exhibit along... More

They have rotating exhibits throughout the year geared to different age levels. We took our grandsons to a skateboard art exhibit. It was fascinating. They have a wonderful museum store as well.

It was looking like it was about to rain today while we fed the swans and we hightailed it to the library to chill and hang out. We saw a sign that the museum was free and took advantage of the facility while it poured outside. It was a delightful little find with art from South America, a very cool... More
