Wonderful place with great rentals but if you want to bring smaller kids to play in the water you will have to portage a little past this park. The water (bay) has seaweed and the sand is not the greatest. But the rentals of paddle boards and other is around 30 an hour. Snack bar and 5-12 yr play park... More

This is a rustic beach area with great shelling opportunity. Prepare to walk a long distance. Crossing lagoon does provide a shorter walk but may not be convenient for all. Having a wagon or beach cart is helpful. Did not used tigertail cafe or other facilities. We did see a fisherman satchel a shark from shore near were your enter... More

We are seniors that enjoy Marco and the beach. We just enjoy walking the beach and not spending the day. The parking situation for visitors is not friendly. Visitors have access at three points on the island. The fee for all day is $8. If you just want to spend an hour walking it is $3. That is not bad... More

Great beach with shells but not too many. Very pretty beach all around with water and sand. Lots of space for kids to run around, fly kites, play paddle ball or build sand castles. Loved it and Marco Island!

Lovely to walk to viewing platform to enjoy the vista (and nearby nesting raptors). Overall excellent birding spot. Fun to wade across to the gulf-side beach, or, simply to walk around to it. Could not believe beach width in one area - widest we'd ever seen! Facilities are clean and quite complete, with adequate parking, restrooms, grill and play area.... More

I took some photos of Tigertail Beach from my condo. In order to get to the gulf, you have 2 options: make a water crossing preferably at low tide or walk a long way around. If you want to do a water crossing, park as far north in the lot as you can. The beach once you make the crossing... More

There was ample parking when we pulled up at tigertails car park on a March Tuesday morning. You can wade over to the tree-lined beach just to the right once on the main beach. We waded up to about 2.5 feet deep, it's safe. On the other side we walked right up the beach then back again missing out the... More

Tigertail is my favourite beach on Marco, but just for the lovely shells to be found. It is not really easy to get onto,, if you do not like walking, as, from the Car Park, which has a nearby Snack Restaurant, there is quite a long, boring walk until you reach the shelling. If you are lucky enough to be staying in... Will be staying on Marco Island in March 21-20. A few questions about Tiger tail beach parking and lagoon crossing.

Are you able to park before 8 am? We will have but would like to have a few all day beach excursion would like to drive in order bring our beach gear( chair, cooler ect..)

The "crossing". I am not a big fan of walking in water above my waist. So I do have a reservation in crossing the lagoon. ( I have watched videos) But at the same time I would like to experience crossing the lagoon in order to get the full unique experience of our visit. So I have a few questions.

Are their any dangers in crossing the lagoon. Is there any risk in crossing at dawn I have seen people say this water is murky with lots of fish therefore I do not know if there would be potential of sharks feeding,. I am not sure of the if the lagoon is open to the gulf. Also I am not not well versed in alligators or crocodiles so is this an area that this can be a concern? I realize that these may be silly questions but non the less I am asking lol...... I could not find any answers to these questions so perhaps these are no issues in the lagoon.

How deep in the deepest part of the crossing my wife is 5' 4" so I would like to have an idea to give her a reference.

What is the depth difference between low tide and high tide. As it appears low tide in in the early morning and high tide is about 2 pm. therefore I am guessing on the way back the water level will be higher.

Any feedback would be appreciated. I realize you can walk around however I would like to overcome my reservation (fear) and cross the lagoon.
