avoid the far south section as it is near the public access and gets very crowded although the shelling by the breakwater is the best.

Great visits every year. The worse part is leaving to go back home. Great evening sunsets. Enjoy a drink and watch the sun go down at the Sunset Grill. Great time.

Lots of gorgeous white sand and best for families. Shells for kids to collect and the sea wasnt rough. In fact, you can swim out about 20 metres and you are on another shallow bank! Great for watching the sunset. Take plenty of food and...More

It's a beautiful beach, but difficult to walk due to the amount of shells that are mixed in with the sand. Gentle surf, as most of the gulf coast.

We went to South Beach almost every day of our week-long vacation. For the hot months, best to go early, when there is shade cover from the condos until about 9:30. The water is warm and calm-great for our 7 moth old, three year-old, and...More

Marco Island's South Beach is the best beach on the island! Large beach with lots of room and some of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen.

We came to walk the beach and look for shells. The beach is very clean with white sand. It wasn't to crowded but the majority of the people were near the beach access but once you went a little distance away it thinned out greatly....More

If you are using Public Access , probably back to car and nearest gas station. I doubt you can walk into a nearby hotel restroom.
