Went on a tour with Breakwater adventures, so glad I got to see this wonder before it is all in the gulf

Rent jetskis on the beach and take the guided tour. You will definitely see the Cape Romano ruins and run into some playful dolphins. well worth the cost of the jetski

Boated around Cape Romano, passing by these structures. An artist told me this had once been a private home, off the grid, and ultimately abandoned by it's owner. It looks odd and unattractive!

We took a dolphin cruise and part of the cruise entailed stopping by Cape Romano. This is a previous home site that is now within the water and uninhabitable. In looking at what the structure looked like in its prime, it is really interesting to...More

We had rented a boat and found our way to Cape Romano. It is such an interesting place. The pod houses provide a good fishing spot and the island is full of surprises.

What an exotic place. Can only be visited from the water. Better go soon, Irma took out another of these unique places. Went there with own boat. After Irma even more difficult to navigate.

Cool trip for shell hunters and little guys. Could see how Irma changed the coast line and domes houses are evidence of another time in florida history. Captain Marco friendly and personable had extensive knowledge of the the island history and the animals that live...More

Once you get to Cape Romano Island, you could walk/swim out to the houses (the water is not deep), but you do have to get to the island in the first place.
